Blowing hot and cold

The second edition of IPL II has caught in the bad weather. with many venues have been rescheduled citing security reasons and the general elections . Generally the sports too, have suffered due to recessionary trends in the industry.

In UK, the football clubs have asked for bailout package. In the recently concluded Australian open all players came together to thank the sponsors for the event.

The worst hit is NBA where the sponsors are reluctant to put their money for sponsorship.

The sports and industries are interlinked they both support them in tandem. In my opinion, the organisers should have given a thought in advance since everbody knew that this is an election year providing security will not be an easy task.

The worst hit will be the advertisers and the broadcasters with millions of dollars will go in drains the industry, which is already facing recession the pull out of IPL II will be seen as rubbing salt in the wound.

ICL, IPL rival, safely shelved the project citing lack of sponsors. And it is yet to pay the overseas players for its last edition.
