This day that year..........
On this day March 7, 1952 Yogananda paramahamsa attained samadhi . His book " Autobiography of a yogi is still ranked as the bestseller. The book has been translated in twenty five languages
He was the first saint to introduce yoga to westerners. Kriya yoga, a technique passed on to him through his Guru Yukteswar . Actually, Mahaavatar baba taught kriya yoga to Lahiri mahasaya who , in turn taught to Yukteswar.
His philosophy on self-realization "Self-realization is the knowing in all parts of body, mind, and soul that you are now in possession of the kingdom of God; that you do not have to pray that it come to you; that God’s omnipresence is your omnipresence; and that all that you need to do is improve your knowing".
An ashram called Yogoda satsang society of India founded by him in 1917.
