You and I are same in the eyes of the creator. But, when it comes to individual tastes we are different . some are tall, some are dwarf some "overeaters" and other some starve to get a decent meals. our preferences are not alike. our likes and dislikes differ yet we are same.
Then how could one compel to worship "the single god". As there are as many minds so there will be as many ways of worshipping HIM.
