The book I have read ......

The book PUNISHED authored by Vanessa Steel. This book was about a girl child(author herself) tormented, tortured and abused by her mother and her grand father(maternal). The reason behind the torture was that she was '' adopted'' by her parents. (At the end of the novel this adoption angle gave a unique twist to the story).

While sufferings at the hands of her mother, she experienced a paranormal entities talking to her. Ultimately, these spirits guided and saved her from choosing a wrong path in her life.

The story started with the mother of the author being taken to hospital in a serious condition. While traveling to the hospital the author recounts her childhood days. The major part of the book was dedicated to her childhood and her trauma . The story ends with her mother being declared dead by the hospital. Then, one may ask what is the connection between the story and the title '' punished''. I leave it to the members to read this book and come to their own conclusion....

Conviction and a greater conviction

Recently I read a book chakravathi thirumagan (commentaries on Ramayana)written by C.Rajagopalachari . The couple of lines fascinated me. The backdrop of the scene was '' who is weak Is it Lord Ram or Ravan? Rajaji says all wrong doers are chicken-hearted by nature but, they camouflaged their originality by their wealth?? and by their so-called pompous lifestyle. He added two things about wrong doers '' to commit a wrong(delibrately) you need a conviction and to confess it you need a greater conviction'' The latter part was lacked by ravanna.

It requires a lot of research......

The people's mind do not remain same. It changes rapidly. The present day market is so complex unless you keep the pulse of the market it is not easy to stay on the market.Nowadays, in many a household the child plays the ultimate Decider role in purchasing gadgets. The digital age child knows better than the child of two decades ago. With the exposure to outer world the child's mind is bombarded with a lots of informations. As a result, the marketing strategists are targetting the child in their promotions campaigns. Be it insurances, refrigerators, soft drinks or any other FMCG'S items the ad cannot be made without factoring in child phenomenon.

No Longer the customer cannot be taken for granted because he can switch over to similar other products with offers more facilities. Brand loyalty is the word of bygone era. It makes the R&D department personnel on tenterhooks then ever before.Every now and then, they are expected to come with innovative products otherwise, their market pie will be eaten away by their competitors.

When it comes to research the following things have to be kept in mind. Their religion, income eating habits etc.. One cannot negate any inputs just like that... A proper and dedicated efforts/endeavours would provide a very helpful insights into the minds of the customers.. That's why marketing is not a CHILD'S PLAY....

Finding a suitable customer contd........

In my earlier blog I had discussed about marketing a new???? model bike. In the end, I had even discussed about the brainstorming session to find a docile, peaceful and who is ready to accept Hand-me-down treatment.

It is easy to find such blokes in India. They are ubiquitously found in every mohalla of Indian metropolis.Or you can outsource the task to Indian coolies as they would bring down your tension. These coolies have the potentialities to project a dross as a dazzling object. In other words, they work as spin-doctors to create a market for a worthless thing.

Before outsourcing the task an important thing you should bear it in mind. The coolies should not disclose that they are working for you. Every happening should be incidental . (that is how it should be created) At no point of time the prospective "buyer" should realize that he is taken for a "ride". Every minute detail should be collected about the buyer. Never allow him to examine the "bike" or its "antecedents".

It is preferable to "harvest" a buyer from "B" group as they are traditionally docile and subjugated (politically). It is assumed that they cannot "revolt" against any wrong thing. The same "B" group is known for notoriety in North India that is a different story altogether. Our task is in South India so concentrate intensively....wish you all the best KEEP TRYING.........

searching for "ownership"

The youngsters love two wheelers. Keeping it in mind the bike manufacturers target them intensively. Whenever there is a launch of new model the marketing team would conduct the roadshows to enthral the youngsters.

In the roadshow, they use the bike for test riding purposes. Different youngsters use this bike to get a "feel" of the bike. Every day, after the roadshow these bikes get water wash, screws tightened and present it to the audience as a brand new bike. Because of its performance, backed by the powerful ad blitz on the media, the other bikes in the showroom will get sold out.

Then the time will come for selling this road show bike to settle with the permanent "owner". Now, the question is how the bike will be projected to the "prospective" buyer ? Can we say that this bike is a brand new one? or shall we hide its past i.e. it was used in the roadshow. If we divulge it,then it would lose its brand new image. Nobody is ready to "buy" a second hand vehicle for a showroom price.BUT the bike has to be sold at any cost.

The marketing "team' would brainstorm to arrive at a conclusion. Their task would be to find a bloke who accepts hand-me-down treatment graciously. THINK! The market is vast to find a suitable "owner".

Share your joy

This story took place in the remotest village of indian hinterland. As any other typical indian village this one has no electricity, roads, healthcare etc. All farmers were using primitive methods of farming. In a household, the parents were unable to cope with the conditions of their son toiling under hot sun in their agricultural field. At an appropriate time they purchased a diesel powered "pumpset" for him and they advised him not to spare it to anyone else. Because they feared that others could "disfigure" the pumpset. The arrival of pumpset has really eased the work pressure of the son's life.

After some time, he felt that if he could give the "pumpset" to other farmers on hire as that would ease the monetary pressure on the family. Relunctanctly, he approached the "pumpset" and said about his intention. For Which, the pumpset replied" even I thought of similar thing the moment I arrived at your home. And it continues"Instead of you-alone-enjoying me let everyone in the village enjoy me so that they get their land "fertile". In my view, this man and that "pumpset" are made for each other. Very soon, they will be seen as a successful one. LONG LIVE THEIR SHARING!

How to Tame?

The human beings has the capabilities to tame the wild animals. He uses his sixth sense . No matter how big the size was. Have you ever seen the elephants at temples they simply obeys the orders of the mahouts. The mahouts wields an ankush or a kind of stick in his hand and he just presses it above the elephant's ear the animal just obeys it how?

It has been trained to do the task right from the calf stage. The animal that of the size of the elephant can remain defiant but it can't . In the same breadth, the mahouts should also learn sometimes, elephants overpower the mahouts because they take the elephants for granted. So everyone should obey the lakshman rekha. do you know how wild elephnats are domesticated? with the help of an already domesticated elephant. It is this domesticated elephant which really "forces" the wild elephant to accept it "fate".

The same analogy found in human beings it is the fellow human beings who really pushes the other person to do some sordid activities.

As human beings we learn many things from animals. Afterall, they are our ancestors.

Adage"s" rephrased

As everything around us changes we should also change otherwise, we will be known as "out of sync". Why not try something silly (as we are always silly)
1. RUPVATHI BHARIYA CHATRU is a Sanskrit adage coined after Ramayana. It means a beautiful wife is an enemy no.1 for a husband because ravana abducted sita after seeing her beauty as a result, lord ram had to undergo a huge amount of sufferings. That's why this adage was coined.

Now, let us rephrase the adage to suit our times. RUPVATHI BHARIYA NIVESH: POONJI meaning a beautiful wife is an investment capital (remember, we live in the age of indecent proposals) SO what's wrong in that " come on buddy! can't you see "swinging" right next door don't you understand we have to live like our neighbors flaunting latest gizmos, 3 -4 foreign travels, latest cars, jewelery so on and so forth it happens every where make use of it.

YUDHISTRA can be pardoned for pawning his wife in the game of gambling. But, these so-called yudhistra have really traveled an extra mile.

JAI HO!

check doubly before you take a plunge

The hero got immersed in the beauty of the heroine because we are all guided by an illusion (maya) later on he couldn't handle her because of her "high spirited" nature.

Its a drab.......

IPL is about to begin I mean (Indian political league) . This election is going to be an insipid one. Already bereft of any major issues the political parties finding it difficult to create a major wave. It is unlikely that the 15th lok sabha would survive the full term. The parties are so fragmented no bloc would get any mandate to occupy the chair in the parliament.

No major corporate is "interested" in election spending particularly, during the period of recession. It is always better to form the national government (inclusion of all major parties) after the hustings in case of fractured mandate is given by the people because that would save billions for the exchequer.

Yours thoughts decides who you are?

A prostitute visited a temple . She was draped in a dazzling Saree . she offered a 100 note to temple priest in the form of dakshina. The priest got bowled over by her beauty. He performed puja with his mind set on the prostitute.

The prostitute continued her "duties" cursing her fate for not being able to chant the almighty name like the priest in the temple. While performing her duties she didn't associate her mind on the duties she was contemplating about the god. Even after a few days, the priest remained obsessed by prostitute beauty continued his puja to almighty.

They both reached upper world the priest went to hell whereas, the prostitute went to heaven. The priest got bewildered over this move. when he questioned the devas they told him " you just performed puja perfunctorily you thoughts were rested on prostitute. In her case, she performed her "duties" but her thoughts were on almighty that's why she got berthed in heaven".

The power of mixture

This blog has nothing to do with the song I just "absorb" the theme . Which in turn, really reflects the kundalini power coiled around the tip of our spinal column. The "ecstasy" one gets when the kundalini raises from the mooladara is synchronized with the dance moments of the song. The onward journey of the kundalini stops when it reaches sahasahara (abode of lord Shiva). The union of shiva sakthi is uncomparable. As the kundalini pierces through one abode(chakra) after another the saadhak (seeker)experiences the divinity both inside his body and outside as well.

History rewritten

Dhoni & co have rewritten history in New Zealand against them in their own backyard. Indians were known as "paper tigers" on overseas tours. That label seems to have disappeared of late. It took 41 years for the indians to register a test series win against New Zealand.

As DHONI rightly attributed this series win to team's efforts. The days of depending on single batsman are gone. Now, every player is chipping in for the team's victory.

A paradigm shift has taken place in India's win, as we were always dependent on spin, but, these days our pace bowlers played a crucial role in this tour. Zaheer Khan after his short stint in county cricket, made a world of good for him which really helped him to improve his bowling style. He was well supported by delhi pacer Ishant Sharma at the other end.

The Man of the match and man of the series Gautam Gambhir has cemented his place for the opener slot.

On a whole, this was an all round performance by the Team India.

Get trapped yourself

A horse was meandering in the meadow enjoying every minute of the life.Suddenly a deer "trespassed" the meadow and grazed the grass. This act infuriated the horse. The horse vowed that it would take a revenge against the deer. So, it chased the deer but it couldn't catch it. Hence, the horse engaged a man to solve the issue. Both man and the horse hatched a plan to trap the deer. A trap was laid at the end of the meadow area. As per plan, the deer was caught in the trap. To verify were they really successful in their operation they wanted to visit the area where the trap was laid. The horse offered itself to man and asked him to climb on its back so that they could reach the destination faster. As per plan, the deer was caught in the trap. From that day onwards two things happened one human beings started using the horse as a mode of transport and humans had tasted the deer's flesh.

Its an unpredictable world

A devout family man came across a mediclaim insurance policy . He went into that insurance office and picked out a policy which protects him and his family members from 75 deadly diseases. So, he immediately signed the papers and paid the premium thru credit card .

He was so much pleased that he had protected himself and his family members . The moment he came out of the office premises he was fataly knocked down by an incoming van.

How would one react to this incident? was it an quirk of the fate? or was it a reckless driving by the victim who was just rejoicing the insurance policy? Did the recently signed policy come to the rescue of the insurance holder? THINK....THINK....

It's an unpredictable world nothing is permanent everything is transient.

GOD PROPOSES MAN DISPOSES!

How to meditate.......

A student was introduced to meditation technique by a zen master. The student complained about back pain, leg ache and thoughts disturbances. For which the zen master told him to continue with the meditation as that would disappear during the course of time. The student continued for some time, now he could concentrate without any pains, aches disturbances and he experienced a kind of happiness in the meditation.

He went to the master and said these days he experiences a happiness in the meditation. The Master replied " Even happiness will dissappear in the course of time you continue with the meditation". The student got puzzled.

The analogy behind meditation is you start with a seeking aspect once you've chartered your path forget about the seeking. In the ultimate status of the meditation, you neither feel anything nor you get anything No longer you seek silent because you are already being silent.

Vibhuthi yoga

We all know that god pervades everywhere. Yet we only worship the idols as "gods". There is nothing wrong in worshiping idols. It is like a kindergarten worship i.e. when we were in those classes the teacher used to associate articles with the alphabhets. As we grow older, do we still want those articles to associate with that word. Don't we form the sentence without even thinking of those articles. Likewise, we don't need any assistance to establish contact with HIM.

Idol worshiping is the stepping stone in spiritual class room. Do not see the progress card every now and then as that would prevent you from moving to next level.

In Bhagawad gita, the Lord gives us a glimpses where we could associate HIM to establish union with the Ultimate Brahmam. Let us see examples quoted in the vibhuthi yoga chapter 10 of the Bhagawad Gita.

He says, among mountain ranges he is Himalayas, Among the rivers he is Jhanavi(other name of Ganges) Among Vedas he is sama veda (because of musical beauty) Among wild animals he is the lion, among gambling he is the 'kick' associated with the gambling, among mantras he is gayatri mantra likewise, the list goes on.

In total, he had expressed 75 examples through which the devotee can corelate with the ultimate Brahmam. For which he had spent 41 slokas in the 43 sloka he says whatever he had said in 41 slokas were not even a tip of the iceberg. Because he is infinitive there is no starting point or ending. This universe is just a speck in his creation. He remains fathomless........

In sum, after reading chapter 10 of the Bhagawad Gita (the essence of the message has not been percolated into my mind it needs further reading and a deep contemplation) one famous line from the film Three Musketeers came to my mind "All for one, One for all"

Yelagiri: Far from the madding crowd

Grave yard shifts, meeting dead lines, working with Mr.Grumpy Face (aka your boss), stifling targets, overtime would make you to shout ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Its time to take a break from the usual chores.

Take a sedan if you have one or a cruiser hit the road to yelagiri . It is a hill station situated on NH7 off Jolarpert. It takes roughly 3-4 hours ride /drive from Chennai. This is the ideal SPOT for the weekend outing. Unlike other hill stations of the state , not much urbane activities can be seen .

The climate is moderate with occasional rains accompanying chill winds.

Like any other hill stations, the centre of the attraction is the punganoor artificial lake. An hour of boating in the lake would definitely do the world of wonder for the week ahead. The other interesting sight seeing places are Murugan temple, Telescope House etc.

There are some budget hotels in Yelagiri which would not create a big hole in your pocket. As this place draws a little crowd finding a good accommodation would not be a problem.

This place is well connected by road and rail. Preferably start early in the morning so that one would reach the spot by 11.00 a.m.

The State Government conducts summer festival every year. The Tourism Department of the State has earmarked this place for its promotional programmes.

Go and chill out my pal!
