A lone survivor....

There seems to be something wrong in the air. Earlier it was air france crash over the atlantic. Yesterday it was the Yemenia airlines crash over the Indian ocean. While trying to land the aircraft, it dived into the ocean. 150 passengers killed. A five year old boy survived the crash.
Similar thing happened when Titanic mishap happened. A six month old baby (Millvina Dean)survived the mishap and went on to survive over 97 years. All these bizarre survivals indicate that not all everything is in your hands....It is the DESTINY which ultimately guides you.

$4oo mn in debts......

The man who had enthralled the X generation with his style and voice died yesterday with $400 mn in debts. Quite amazing isn't it? Are they poor financial planners or sumthing which the fame had camouflaged them in taking the future into account. This is really worrying because as you started basking in the glory you tend to lose in gauging the reality. Similar fate happened to Tennis player Bjorn Borg, who had sold his major trophies and rackets to sustain '' financial security''.

Back home in India, many film personalities went broke because of their poor financial planning like tamil comedian chandra babu, first tamil film super star thyagaraja Bhagavathar etc.

The psychology behind the successful personalities going broke because they always lived a lonely life in private (apart from the media glare). At the pinnacle of life you will not find anyone to share your feelings hence, they tend to take wrong decisions at wrong time.

Balming effect.....

In 1939, when the great depression struck the world the hollywood actor Charlie chaplin gave the balming effect to the americans. Likewise, Sir Donald Bradman enthralled the grief stricken faces of the australians with the magic of his willow.

This year, Pakistan won the T20 world cup giving its people to smile amidst a civil war scenario prevailing in that country. Actually, human beings require some sort of "releasing points" otherwise, many people will be seen as patients of Institute of Mental Health.

TOO much cricket!

The 2007 T20 world cricket provided a platform for popularising the game in the sub-continent. In that tournament, India winning the cup was the culminatiion point. After that, IPL became a money spinner keeping our players fully engaged through out the year. (Indians play cricket more number of days than anyone else in the world probably because BCCI is the richest cricketing body in the world that's why they make our "professional" players to toil on the field) It may be argued that they are professionals that they should be ready for any circumsances but one should not forget they are after all, humans not humanoids. Staging of IPL 2 just before the T20 World cup has definetely taken a toll on our players. As a result, we failed to qualify for semi finals of the ongoing world cup tournament.

It is time for the managing body to create three different teams (test, one-dayers and T20's) so that fatigue factor would not set in the future. We are capable of creating three teams because we have huge bench reserve to create such a format.

A word of caution

I think it was in 1993 the film "Mahanadhi" was released. During that period it was considered to be a FILM much ahead of time. The scenes featured in that movie (definitely) were disturbing In some cases, it just created a negative impact on viewer's mind. The concept made people to rethink about acquiring new friendship.

The film goes like this the hero, a widowyer, leading a peacful life with his children in a village. There was no shortcoming in the happiness. Suddenly, he was bitten by "becoming richbug". As a result, he joined hands with chameleons. EVENTUALLY, he paid a heavy price of destroying his own family.

As one passes through middle age(what is a middle age nobody is sure what would happen next moment) one has to be cautious. Because after hitting the middle age a kind of feeling would push you harder to "acheive" something in life(as if this so called achievement would give you a complete satisfaction)
Sensing this weakness ,a bad company in the name of newly bloomed friendship would take you for a ride as it happened with the hero of this movie.

The mantra to beat this trend is to accept the situation as it is never build castle in the air.

Had it not been reported

Had the racist attacks not been reported by the Indian media the victims would have swept things under the carpert. Like this comedian,Particularly, "spot-bhandhas" characters would always complain about air pollution, noisy environment prevailing in the Indian cities as if they were born in Lord labukkudass family. Thanks to Indian media for bringing out the "true"treatment " meted out to our bretherns in "firangi" land. Atleast, this time their "volume" would come down because of ongoing economic meltdown would force them to "shut" their trap.

JAI HO!

Why so important?

The world has become chaotic. Nothing gives you a solace. By tuning in to TV sets you either receive disaster news either in the form of H1N1 virus or air crash . In sum, this life is temporary in nature then why all this fuss about it? yet one has to remain consicious during the lifetime otherwise, one would experience death everyday of one's life. My heart goes out to the victims of Atlantic air crash.
