Manifest and Unmanifest

Reason why we take births because we have unfulfilled desires we want to satiate those desires for which we want a body or a manifest form . Hence, we take births. The moment the " soul" enters the body (as it is going to be with that body for years together) it does anything when I say "anything" it can go to any extent of satiating those desires. That's why many people are unmindful about the consequences they act as per their wants Those who die with unfulfilled desires take the unmanifest form waiting for another chance to satiate those desires.

This does not confine to one birth or one birth-death cycle it goes on forever. A verse from Adi Shankaracharya says" Punarapi jananam Punarapi maranam" from the baja govindam song.

It is the soul which chooses the body . In other words, All a soul wants is a suitable body, which could be used as a medium so that it could achieve its destination.

Hence, do not curse the god for your plight.

Suppose, a man/woman dies before his/her stipulated time he/she will be roaming in this world as "spirits" once that stipulated period gets over, They will get away from this world.

The word "spirit" and "soul" are different. In Hindu culture, soul is addressed as "atma". whereas the Christian world consider "spirit"is confined to gross body.

Atma pervades everywhere. For example, you create a pot and there is a space outside the pot the "air" which is outside the pot also resides inside the pot. Once the pot is broken. the air which is inside the pot dissolves with the air outside the pot. And they become indistinguishable.

What an irony?

When India's banking sector was nationalized various economic pundits criticized the action as a retrograde step.

To be precise, Indian banking rules are stricter than Chinese banking rules . They come under rigid RBI rules.

Before economic liberalization the western economic scholars exhorted de-control or banking reforms in India.

Now, after the 2008 recession, very same western countries are clamoring for protectionism.

Following or aping India's model would safeguard their banking sector.

India has learn t a lesson from the just concluded recession. One cannot adopt policies which are not favorable to our people. We ought to be selective no more indiscriminate following of economic reforms.

There is also a re think in liberalization process, following a crass capitalism would only land the country in a quagmire.

Health vs Wealth

These days , in the early part of life we spend our health to earn wealth. In the second half(god willing, if we survive that much) of our life,we spend our accumulated wealth to regain our health.

Tension grips everyone. Remaining in that state has become fashionable. Taking anti-depressants is a way of life.

Not understanding there is a LIFE beyond that.

By the way, attending a costly week-end yoga course (primary reason being to enlarge the business network not for the health purposes) and then forget about it citing paucity of time.

Making periodical visits to diagnostic centres for the medical check up. Once reached the centre , you can't remain silent immediately make a phone call to chandigarh chitthi and talk about alternate therapy available to reduce sugar levels. Simultaneously, discuss about the recent silk saree you've purchased.

Shameless braggery . No matter what others would think of you. This is nothing but frivolous bliss.

What a wasteful exercise?

You cherish the dream of achieving something in your life. for which you've spent so much of your energy (both physical and monetary) and you've carried out all necessary spadeworks to envelope that "thing". Alas! that "thing" gives you a huge snub at the time of your "intended acquisition".. Now,tell me how would you feel? Never believe a secondary data because they are not always reliable. It is always better to invest your time personally and scrutinize the project in hand.

Withdraw yourself be4 you receive a boot.....

Whatever we do in our life we expect some sorts of results. And we always expect ourselves to be successful in life. We are afraid of being failure. Rather, we are afraid of humiliation surrounding the failure. Hence, in order to ward off the failure we are prepared to travel an extra mile to "snatch" the success (eluding).

In that process, we always go or work against the nature. In the end, we really don't relish the accomplishment of the "target".

It is always better to withdraw from the scene and just be a mute spectator so that one would not get badly bruised by the turn of events.

how much is enough? can anyone say.....

The human mind will always cl amour for this thing or that thing. There is no ending to this . If you succumb to it the mind becomes more virulent than ever before. . If you didn't respond to it then it would make you feel depressed. Now tell me what to do with this mind ?

Relax! just follow what our age old gurus told us to do. Didn't you get what I mean? I mean just observe allow it to go . That is the best solution one could prescribe at the moment.

your food reflects your character...

Our character is governed by our food habits. If you look at saints (to put it rightly, sanyasis) they always eat less , particularly they avoid taking tamasic foods because as that would induce "feelings" inside the brain.

The perfect ratio of eating is : solid portion should occupy one-half, One fourth should be occupied by water, other one fourth should be left empty .
Never drink water immediately after your food . wait for one hour to consume water. Allow food to be digested in that gap of one hour.

Wait for another 4 hours to go for lunch. Try to finish off your before 7 p.m.

Is this called a "settled" life?

Yesterday,I happened to attend a religious-cum-socio function near Chennai. People from all walks of life attended the function. The purpose of the function was primarily targeted at the children and the youths. Because Chennai earns the numero uno position when it comes to abandoning their parents off the roads. The areas in and around Chennai, chooses this state capital as their favorite "dumping" ground for their parents.

In this city,At least 1 case is reported either from major Bus terminal or the railway station about parents being abandoned . More pathetic thing is even old couples are separated before being "dumped". Unable to face the harsh treatment from their "beloved" sons and daughters (and coupled with self-esteem)these "dumped" parents refuses to go back to their houses.

The "dumping" is not confined to a particular strata of the community. At least socialism prevails in their treatment to their parents.

Imagine, what would happen to today's sons and daughters after 30-40 years? will they survive that longer ? or should they brace up more harsher treatments from their "beloved" pro genies. Only time can tell........

Communication what is it?

Over the last 15-20 years, communication between neighbhours has almost come to naught because we live in apartments and we are hooked to TV and chatting on the net has become a way of life. The reason for being like this is because we are more focussed than earlier generations (hurry up! you suckers time is running out). We want to achieve everything in this birth itself so there is no time to take time off from our mission. These days, no body is bothered about who resides next door. The moment you enter the house, close the door, watch TV or surf the net. This tendency will definetely have an adverse effects on the society as a whole.

The worst sufferers are the senior citizens, who become an easy target of the anti-social elememnts.

How insensitive we are?

Death can happen any time no body is sure of it? The two wheeler boom in Chennai has choked the available little space on the road. As a result, road accidents are common sight . The by standers have become insensitive to the accident victims. In a recent accident the victim was robbed off by the"rescuers" . In many cases, victims were left on the road unattended for hours together. The obvious reason would be that nobody wanted to get entangled in the police case. Many victims would've been saved had they been rushed to the hospital within the golden hour.

would u mind?

Would you mind sharing a seat or using a seat used by the other passengers?

Would you mind using a glass in a hotel which was earlier used by the other hotel visitors.?

Would you mind sleeping in a cot in a lodge which was used earlier by other visitors to the lodge?

But, there are certain things for which (I cannot discuss)cannot be shared with someone or for that matter, or something which was used by someone else earlier. Do I have to be more specific? No this forum is the right one.....

A glimpse of mundakopanishad

A story features in this upanishad which says about two birds . one bird relishes in eating fruits whereas another bird remain silent without any expression. This is nothing but jivatma and paramathma. it is the jivatma indulges in all sorts of things whereas the paramathma remain a mute spectator for all those happenings. In other words, it remains a saakshi. be it funeral procession or marriage procession or peace march it remains the same without any expression. The allegory representations of two birds are present in every human.

Now, tell me which bird has relished the fruits was enjoying or the bird which was witnessing the other bird's action? how much do we enjoy this life?
