RELATIONSHIP: NOT TO HIT ROADBLOCK

The relationship between a mother and a child is unconditional. At least, from the mother's point of view. The children have their own priorities. As one grow we may not be as close as we were earlier. Then, this mind would yarn for a similar kind of relation with "greater access". Yeah! I mean marriage(s). You may get puzzled why I add (s) to the word marriage. Wait! WAIT! Bebe I 'll discuss it to the best of my knowledge. I hear the murmuring "What a bachelor can talk about marital life? HolD On Hold On! do you know something India's finest treatise on sex(Kama Sutra) is written by a bachelor/celebate, Vatsayanna .

The advantages of getting married are that your financial burden is shared . Because of "greater accessibility" you can enjoy life, and if one wishes, can have children. There is someone to care of you for the rest of your lie????/ Here I have a different opinion. Not all relationships are like that. As a married person, you are exempted from singing "feeling of being lonely".

DISADVANTAGES: Your various "ingress and egress" would either get shut down completely or for the time being. You have to make many compromises to save the newly acquired relation. Sometimes, you may have to forgo your principles.

The crux of the matter: You can sacrifice your pleasure to safeguard this relationship. But,......if there is no commitment from the partner. And the partner gauges the amount of commitment in a scale. For example, I had washed the kitchen yesterday now, it's your turn.
Ok even this can be adjusted but the dreaded thing is ..........

Wait for a day this episode is to be continued .........

City of flyovers..

Chennai city has the largest number of flyovers and subways. Traffic in the city move at a speed of 22km/hr which is reasonably good when you compare this data with other major cities of the country. Major bottlenecks have been cleared with the construction of flyovers (actually, it should have been done much earlier anyway, better late than never).

Inspite of so many flyovers , still, ther is no answer for the traffic jam at Panagal park junction. That locality houses many major jewellery marts and textile shops. The planners of the late 70's did not envisage the future growth of the city. As a result, the subway at duraiswamy Road is very narrow and it is unable to take the load of burgeoning traffic of the city. Situation is very similar at Madley road subway too. The approach roads to this subway is very narrow and that area would need removal of residential colonies Which is not feasible in today's condition.

What is meditation?

Everyone can see only a gross body. A very few can see the invisible portion i.e. subtle and subtler portion of the body. The one who has perceived that level will be known as a ''yogi''. As per our mythology , beyond this gross body and the mind there is a term called '' chaitanya'' In other words, it is nothing but consciousness . To visualise that stage we resort to meditation . As a first step, we need to calm our body and mind because a perturbed mind cannot see things clearly. Meditation helps us to stay cool irrespective of the situation. Sri Ramana Maharishi has elucidated this body, mind and consciousness in his book called tripura rahasya.

It is ineffable to describe the state of meditation . In my opinion, it is a self experience.

The effect of past karmas

The karmic theory is a unique in all aspects . One cannot find a concrete answer and logical support for karmas. For some, enlightenment takes place without any efforts from the seeker. But, in majority all efforts goes waste(actually, we don't understand the reality) .In reality, our efforts are either deposited or neutralisied just like we deposit money and issue cheques for our transactions.

To elucidate on this issue, For example, One day we start from our home very late but we would reach the office without any delay. Another day we start early in spite of that we would reach our destination very late.It is nothing but karmas. What other reasons could you attribute to it?

It is not just our efforts which decides our fate. There are so many factors attributing to a particular event . So, our motto is concentrate on work. Never expect any results.

What makes a seeker to get up from meditation?

It is the effect of past karmas because you've taken birth to discharge all your karmas. That is quite natural. As a result, when you ae in a deep meditation you are woken up by your past karmas. If your past karma is so strong you'll not be able to sit for meditation (you hardly think of meditation). The characters which seek pleasures in outer world will have vacillator y mind. Always remain restless and easily get depressed. Even to get a peaceful sleep, they seek tranquilizer . Again, this shows the effects of past karmas.

Find out a good negotiator..

When you are up against a pig-headed, impervious character for a "deal" and you are not in a position to deal with that character directly. because you like that "deal" but at the same time, you want to suppress certain things from the other person. What would you do? you'll definitely look out for a negotiator

How to hunt down a good negotiator? Particularly, in India it is very difficult to find out an exact negotiator because of heterogeneous nature.
Hypothetically, you've found out a negotiator but you still don't know will he or she close the "deal"....Once again I use the cliché RAM JAANE............

Never share your meal......

After the death of Sage parasurama 's mother . Parasurama vowed to annihilate the kshatriya race . (imagine a brahmin undertakes a terminator job which is quite outlandish by today's standard). In order to safeguard their children, kshatriya sent their sons and daughters to the brahmin households. At their homes, kshatriya children would look alike of brahmin children. But, the shrewd parasurama knew the knack of separating kshatriya's children. He would ask the brahmin lady to arrange for a meal and ask all children to have meals on a single platter.

Under any circumstances, brahmin would never share meal with anyone as it would pollute him/her. Through this trick sage Parasurama would continue with his "project".

If you analyse why they don't share meals with other is because it is considered as an unhygienic practice and that human saliva carries various bacteria and viruses. Remember, we live in the days of H1N1 virus . Every doctor stresses on personal hygiene .

When you compare today's Brahmin with the brahmins of that era . I'm sorry today's brahmins are brahmins for namesake. They could stoop to any level to achieve their "goals" in their life.

In today's world, majority brahmins have relinquished their rituals as they mix freely with outer world. The members from other community view the minority portion of the brahmin community (who try to ape their forefathers but not following exactly)with a ridicule . When others have changed why you with an outdated ideology?

Janam Janam Ka rishta????

In Hindu religion, (actually, religion is full of beliefs ) there is a belief about marriage if a man ties a knot to a woman which means they are continuing their previous births relationship. To be precise, they both were husband and wife for the last 6 births. (No reprieve for a man as he does the same wrong again and again) .

Then what about "affairs" which does not result in marriages (come on yaar, affairs are meant to be to used as "the best time pass"). You enjoy some one get married to someone. That someone might have had a similar "affair(s)" before the marriage. The marriage completes the mere formality. that's all.

Then why have a high expectations about the marriage!!!!!!!

Let it go....

A seeker often gets bad thoughts during meditation I mean " simply bad thoughts" ( I simply leave it to the imagination of the readers about the bad thoughts) and he complains it to his master about his experience.
The master says " just ignore them ". He continued" when devas and asuras churned the ocean the first thing they received was poisonous fumes and elements but, they never bothered about the outcome they just continued churning . Ultimately, they explored the elixir .Likewise, you should not bother about the outcome just continue what you are doing right now the rest is HIS discretion".

Amma ... Thaiyae.... pasikkudhu ...amma...

Very often one would hear such words from beggars at place of worshiping, cinema halls, bus stands, traffic signals and at times outside our homes too! They are ubiquitously found .Never underestimate their "industry". It is not easy to associate or enroll with them. They "recruit" people with "top influence" in other words, only referential "employment' is permissible. In Mumbai alone they made an annual turnover of whopping 180 Crores. In Ajmer, a religious place , makes an 10 Crores annually.

There is a big racket revolving around this ' industry". These entrepreneurs give their "collections" to the local money lenders who in turn, give 1-3% interest to the beggars and they utilize these amounts for their usury business.

There are group A, B,C and D " beggars" in this " business". Disable and handicapped persons are dominant force . Creating or stroking a sympathy wave is considered as an USP for a successful "entrepreneur" in this trade. For which they even get babies on rent. A weeping and a physically challenged child is an instant hit in the trade because it fetches more collections as a result, child rent also increases.

Before I sign off, let me croon a song which is consideed as an anthem for train -bound beggars " Pardesi, pardesi jaana nahin.......".

Do you want a guru?

It is futile to run after a guru. The guru is within us. Sounds interesting isn't it?
Roadside drunkard also can be your guru because he teaches us not to be a nuisance to the society. Looking at the perverted souls around us , they too , teach us not to lead a life in that fashion. So, one need not run after a guru or start hunting for a guru. Only thing is that we have to identify him. He is ready to impart education to us. By the way, Is guru equivalent to an academic teacher? Guru's duty is to dispel disciple ambiguity whereas, teacher job is to finish off academic course. hence, guru plays a vital role and he is highly placed than our usual teachers.

PAAL KUDAM: rethink it

Sabarimala season. is on. Many devotees will be taking paal kudam ritual to the Murugan temples. Litres of milk will be poured over the idols of the presiding deity. In Palani, the idol of Lord Muruga is made out of an amalgam known as Nava Pasanam, which has the potency of curing any diseases.

Hence, our forefathers took up the practice of abhishekham. Moreover, the premises of the temples were kept spick and span. All those devotees who took a few drops of milk, honey and other preparations benefitted from that practice.

In addition, Fresh cow's milk was used for the anointment purpose. But these days milk sachets are widely used. Instead of pouring litres of milk over the statue the devotees could perform abhisekham with one kudam (as a matter of tokenism) and divert other kudams to the nearby orphanages. Except Palani, all other newly constructed murugan temples don't have Nava Pasaanam idols. So they don't have medicinal purposes.
Even in palani , anointment to mulavar(main idol) had been stopped more than two decades ago. Thanks to greedy and influential "devotees"????, who just scrubbed the age old idol, for their personal purposes.
My suggestion is there should be a rethink to this pratice.

A saga of intented "take over"

An evil eye is set on an "entity" for a hostile take over. This dream has been nursed for years together. Due-diligence have been carried out. Based on the reports submitted by the auditors of the due-diligence, the taking over company have become complacent. Considering the situation of the entity to be taken over that the taking company have come to a conclusion that the company intented to be taken over is almost indefensible and nobody could thwart the hostile "take over".

The taking over company have started victory celebrations before anything is finalized. Their main intention is to uproot the operation of the business and (if need arises) impalant it elsewhere. This shows their level of arrogance .

Consider it as a hypothetical situation, the company intended to be taken over has quietly forged an amicable amalgmation formula with another conglomerate thereby it not only thwarted the hostiletake over bid but also have become a formidable conglomerate to challenge the very existence of the erstwhile bidder.

This shows that none can be taken for granted. Imagine you were a bidder company what must go through your mind and body . Afterall, you can only rue over the state of your affairs.

There is always a slip between the cup and the lip......

Go veg....

This is not possible for everyone to practice but, think of our future generations we should bequeath this planet to them in a habitable condition.

So, cut down your meat consumption to reduce Co2 emission. If you can't give up the habit of meat consumption. Atleast, try to observe "meat free day" in a week would do the needful. Afterall, going veg would allow you to beat the economic downturn.

From the ethical point of view, have compassion towards fellow living beings.

Vengadam Mudhal kumari varai.....

Exactly, 53 years ago , The first state carved out on the basis of linguistic population was Andhra pradesh. Before which it was a part of Madras Presidency. Struggle to crteate Andhra pradesh was led by a freedom fighter Potti Sriramulu.

At that time, chennai(Madras) city remained a contentious issue between Andhra and Tamil Nadu. But, tamils were not interested in giving away chennai city but, reluctantly gave away Tirupati to Andhra. During negotiations Andhra even demanded tiruttani as part of the state. The word "thiru" is found in tamil language alone. "thiru" equivalent is "shri".If one look at the tamil history it was clearly mentioned that tamil speaking region extended from "vengadam mudal kumari varai" which means from tirupati to kanyakumari is demarcated as tamil region.

Kurnool became the state capital of Andhra state.

Why are they attached .....

There is a general opinion that daughters are attached to their dads while sons are atttached to their moms. Western psychoanalysts may claim it as a freudian theory of oedipus syndrome to support their arguments. But, In indian mythology a story is woven around this phenomenon.

When Lord Ganesha attained '' marriageable '' age his parents Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati asked Ganesha about his choice of choosing a life partner. Ganesha replied '' I want a bride exactly like my mom''. Both parents fed up with the son's attitude. Then, they gave up their efforts.

And there is a sub-story for the above mentioned incident. If you visit any village you can see a ganesha idol perched right under the pipal tree on the banks of the temple tank. The above mentioned story continued ''After getting the reply form ganesha both parents asked him to find out a bride of his choice on his own. So, Lord ganesha is eyeing every lady who visits the tank. But, so far, ganesha is unable to find a suitable bride till this day''.

Poor chap Indeed!..........

Cooum rehabilitation programme.

Actually, cooum river is a back water. It has some noted religious places on its banks. Even the noted Pachaippa Mudaliar used to bathe in this river . Till 60's this river was used as water navigation . Alas! if you look at the water body now, it has become an eyesore of the city. The entire stretch of the river is about 84 kms the moment the river enters the Chennai city it gets polluted. In Chennai parlance, the other name for gutter is Coo um and vice-versa. This is a sad part for a river which has had a glorious past.

This is the third time that the government has come up with an action plan to clean up the river on the lines of Singapore river . As per the plan, it would take at least a decade to complete the project.

Her Predicament part II

Next day morning the lady came to the ashram . But, this time the sanyasi didn't give one -to-one interview instead, he asked her to join the morning discourse. The sanyasi is well versed in delivering encrypted messages to his target audience. At the same time, not to cause heart burns to them.

During discourse, he emphasized the need to be an original not to get swayed by the imaginative characters. He asked his disciples to differentiate between original and illusory feelings. He even exhorted them to cultivate higher values even when they are pushed to the pitfall. Last but not the least, never watch films which just pollutes your mind and he even asked his assistants to stop taking details about the new DVDs releases.

We hope that the lady understood the sanyasi's message.........

Her Predicament.....

A bold lady went to an ashram and met a sanyasi(DON"T BE AFRAID THIS HUMAN IS NOT A CONMAN) . She elucidated her hardship to that sanyasi. But, sanyasi got irritated over her talk .

Knowing that this sanyasi was a movie buff,(WHICH SCRIPTURES PREVENT SANYASI FROM WATCHING MOVIES) she compared her predicament with that of a heroine of the film " La Fille sur le pont" .

Again, sanyasi got irritated " girl, I cannot answer your questions right now because I've seen the movie which you've mentioned. Before leaving the ashram, leave the details of the DVD to my assistant and come tomorrow for the solution".

So folks, visit tomorrow for the answer from the sanyasi or watch the movie tonight and understand the lady's predicament.....

It was a kite flying session

Basanth festival is still three months from now. I MEAN the term ''kite flying . To check the general mood of the public before a new idea is proposed. Or rather, one would call it as an ice-breaking session. In chennai, no "ICE".

When two parties stopped talking and one party wants to re-start the process but, the presence of ego prevents straight talking.Generally, that(interested) party would use the services of emissaries/mercenaries to check whether the other party is interested in re-starting the process. If the interested party receives a green signal they can go ahead with the process.

The emissaries/ mercenaries while talking to the other party would gauge his/HER readiness, or rather conduct SWOT analysis so that they would present a report on re- starting process.

Generally, kite flying session could be used as a face-saving formula because if the other party is not interested, this step could be wrapped under the carpet forever.

Man at work????????

An orthodox south Indian family sends their only daughter to abroad after many hardships. And she seems to have forgotten her parents back home
The following is an imaginary telephonic conversation between a father (at deadbed) and his daughter:

Ring tone : Tring Tring....

Daughter: (Picks up mobile phone sharing the bed with her boyfriend) Helo Appa! (tone very submissive) what happened ? calling this hour.

Father: Chellam (meaning sweet heart) The doctors have set a deadline for my life Please come immediately (he's crying)

Daughter: Appa! Appa! What you are saying ? Nothing will happen to you Appa! Pray to god ! Nothing bad will happen to you.

Father: No NO my child you should come home immediately (suddenly connection gets disrupted call it as a technical glitch or daughter did it intentionally , Ram Jaane)

Daughter: (After placing the phone) Come on honey! let's see our . work that old man can't understand our times!

At the doorstep a board is placed saying "man at work".................

very funny analysze

Big corporporations are cutting their budgets to tide over the current economic meltdown. If the similar things are followed domestically, we are labelled as stingy. I don't know the reason. Being simple is always beautiful.

Look at Dubai, over ambitious not bothered about the impending economical collapse it went ahead with mega projects... see its current status even Big brother Abu Dabhi is having a second thought in undertaking its Entire debts.

Tough time always provides an opportunity to identify a true friend. Henceforth, never curse any adverse conditions.

Likewise, many developed nations across the globe discouraged the habit of savings . On the other hand, the government encouraged its people to spend their lives on debts.
The result pushing millions into the debt quagmire.

Having mistresses .......

This tendency is arising due to "give-me-more" urge . Stinking rich men want to flaunt their wealth go for this kind of relationship. Hence, they address their target audience (yes! we do have a sizable group in the society who craves for this kind of relationship at times, when the relation gets soured, they intimidate their male partner here relation is not seen as a male's "releasing point" but as a "fleecing point" from a woman's point of view to articulate on this subject watch tamil film "chinna veedu"). Basically, all these issues should be addressed with a counselor not you municipal councilor (otherwise, your "mistresses" and your spouse as well, will be eloped with your "area councilor". After all, this relationship is gauged on male's net worthiness).

Come on ! everyone has a breaking point don't you fall into the trap of temptation.

At times, withdraw yourself

When everything goes alright we completely immerse ourselves into the affair. That is the root cause of all problems. While enjoying the situation as it is we should withdraw from the situation take an aerial view of the situation . If one practice this , god forbids, any calamity strikes that person would stay like a solid rock. In other words, nothing will affect him in fact, he will affect everything around him.

Choose the middle path as advocated by lord Buddha.

Feign adulation

There is no recognition for originality. We rush to give recognition for false appearance. That is the power of illusion(maya) which wraps the issue with its web. Man's thinking ability is crippled the moment his desire takes the frontstage. We just jump into the situation before thorughlly analyzing the after effect. For a few moment of so-called "joy" one should not pawn one's life. The accomplishment of a desire cannot make us satisfied. If the desire gets fulfilled another desire pops up. On the other hand, an unfulfilled desire guarantees another birth. So, one has to tread carefully because afterall, life is full of traps.

All good things appear bad and vice versa. CHOICE IS YOURS..........

Forgetting is a problem

Every human life is woven with relationships. We forge relationship depending upon our tastes. It could be based on emotional , economical, physical or mental compatabilities. It is always a difficult to have a long lasting relations. Ultimately, we would be having a few relations of that kind. But, it is very easy to snap the relations at a smack of the finger. As I said earlier entire universe function is based on attractions and repulsions. Same thing happen to human beings but,we can't decipher our each and every action. We crave for a particular thing, after some time we start disliking that "very" product/object.

Sometimes, parted relations could trigger a lifelong animosity. We tend to develop an ill feeling towards the parted member. One has to forget about the past chart one's course for the future. It is easy to preach, actually, one should experience the pangs inflicted by the parted person. But, the best thing would be to forget it........

Add "spice" to your life

Making confession is a good thing . But, not at the cost of happiness. Suppose, you are writing an autobiography nobody would be interested in reading a book on a simpleton life. Before you pen a book on your life make sure you've attained a stage of a celebrity. In reality, nobody likes straight forwardness. Hence, you better think something which would ultimately, push up your book sales. Even if there is none in your life, don't worry, come out with something "spicy". There is always a seperate audience for "sleazy" content. Inside every human being, there is a habitat for voyeurism.
