RELATIONSHIP: NOT TO HIT ROADBLOCK

The relationship between a mother and a child is unconditional. At least, from the mother's point of view. The children have their own priorities. As one grow we may not be as close as we were earlier. Then, this mind would yarn for a similar kind of relation with "greater access". Yeah! I mean marriage(s). You may get puzzled why I add (s) to the word marriage. Wait! WAIT! Bebe I 'll discuss it to the best of my knowledge. I hear the murmuring "What a bachelor can talk about marital life? HolD On Hold On! do you know something India's finest treatise on sex(Kama Sutra) is written by a bachelor/celebate, Vatsayanna .

The advantages of getting married are that your financial burden is shared . Because of "greater accessibility" you can enjoy life, and if one wishes, can have children. There is someone to care of you for the rest of your lie????/ Here I have a different opinion. Not all relationships are like that. As a married person, you are exempted from singing "feeling of being lonely".

DISADVANTAGES: Your various "ingress and egress" would either get shut down completely or for the time being. You have to make many compromises to save the newly acquired relation. Sometimes, you may have to forgo your principles.

The crux of the matter: You can sacrifice your pleasure to safeguard this relationship. But,......if there is no commitment from the partner. And the partner gauges the amount of commitment in a scale. For example, I had washed the kitchen yesterday now, it's your turn.
Ok even this can be adjusted but the dreaded thing is ..........

Wait for a day this episode is to be continued .........

City of flyovers..

Chennai city has the largest number of flyovers and subways. Traffic in the city move at a speed of 22km/hr which is reasonably good when you compare this data with other major cities of the country. Major bottlenecks have been cleared with the construction of flyovers (actually, it should have been done much earlier anyway, better late than never).

Inspite of so many flyovers , still, ther is no answer for the traffic jam at Panagal park junction. That locality houses many major jewellery marts and textile shops. The planners of the late 70's did not envisage the future growth of the city. As a result, the subway at duraiswamy Road is very narrow and it is unable to take the load of burgeoning traffic of the city. Situation is very similar at Madley road subway too. The approach roads to this subway is very narrow and that area would need removal of residential colonies Which is not feasible in today's condition.

What is meditation?

Everyone can see only a gross body. A very few can see the invisible portion i.e. subtle and subtler portion of the body. The one who has perceived that level will be known as a ''yogi''. As per our mythology , beyond this gross body and the mind there is a term called '' chaitanya'' In other words, it is nothing but consciousness . To visualise that stage we resort to meditation . As a first step, we need to calm our body and mind because a perturbed mind cannot see things clearly. Meditation helps us to stay cool irrespective of the situation. Sri Ramana Maharishi has elucidated this body, mind and consciousness in his book called tripura rahasya.

It is ineffable to describe the state of meditation . In my opinion, it is a self experience.

The effect of past karmas

The karmic theory is a unique in all aspects . One cannot find a concrete answer and logical support for karmas. For some, enlightenment takes place without any efforts from the seeker. But, in majority all efforts goes waste(actually, we don't understand the reality) .In reality, our efforts are either deposited or neutralisied just like we deposit money and issue cheques for our transactions.

To elucidate on this issue, For example, One day we start from our home very late but we would reach the office without any delay. Another day we start early in spite of that we would reach our destination very late.It is nothing but karmas. What other reasons could you attribute to it?

It is not just our efforts which decides our fate. There are so many factors attributing to a particular event . So, our motto is concentrate on work. Never expect any results.

What makes a seeker to get up from meditation?

It is the effect of past karmas because you've taken birth to discharge all your karmas. That is quite natural. As a result, when you ae in a deep meditation you are woken up by your past karmas. If your past karma is so strong you'll not be able to sit for meditation (you hardly think of meditation). The characters which seek pleasures in outer world will have vacillator y mind. Always remain restless and easily get depressed. Even to get a peaceful sleep, they seek tranquilizer . Again, this shows the effects of past karmas.

Find out a good negotiator..

When you are up against a pig-headed, impervious character for a "deal" and you are not in a position to deal with that character directly. because you like that "deal" but at the same time, you want to suppress certain things from the other person. What would you do? you'll definitely look out for a negotiator

How to hunt down a good negotiator? Particularly, in India it is very difficult to find out an exact negotiator because of heterogeneous nature.
Hypothetically, you've found out a negotiator but you still don't know will he or she close the "deal"....Once again I use the cliché RAM JAANE............

Never share your meal......

After the death of Sage parasurama 's mother . Parasurama vowed to annihilate the kshatriya race . (imagine a brahmin undertakes a terminator job which is quite outlandish by today's standard). In order to safeguard their children, kshatriya sent their sons and daughters to the brahmin households. At their homes, kshatriya children would look alike of brahmin children. But, the shrewd parasurama knew the knack of separating kshatriya's children. He would ask the brahmin lady to arrange for a meal and ask all children to have meals on a single platter.

Under any circumstances, brahmin would never share meal with anyone as it would pollute him/her. Through this trick sage Parasurama would continue with his "project".

If you analyse why they don't share meals with other is because it is considered as an unhygienic practice and that human saliva carries various bacteria and viruses. Remember, we live in the days of H1N1 virus . Every doctor stresses on personal hygiene .

When you compare today's Brahmin with the brahmins of that era . I'm sorry today's brahmins are brahmins for namesake. They could stoop to any level to achieve their "goals" in their life.

In today's world, majority brahmins have relinquished their rituals as they mix freely with outer world. The members from other community view the minority portion of the brahmin community (who try to ape their forefathers but not following exactly)with a ridicule . When others have changed why you with an outdated ideology?

Janam Janam Ka rishta????

In Hindu religion, (actually, religion is full of beliefs ) there is a belief about marriage if a man ties a knot to a woman which means they are continuing their previous births relationship. To be precise, they both were husband and wife for the last 6 births. (No reprieve for a man as he does the same wrong again and again) .

Then what about "affairs" which does not result in marriages (come on yaar, affairs are meant to be to used as "the best time pass"). You enjoy some one get married to someone. That someone might have had a similar "affair(s)" before the marriage. The marriage completes the mere formality. that's all.

Then why have a high expectations about the marriage!!!!!!!

Let it go....

A seeker often gets bad thoughts during meditation I mean " simply bad thoughts" ( I simply leave it to the imagination of the readers about the bad thoughts) and he complains it to his master about his experience.
The master says " just ignore them ". He continued" when devas and asuras churned the ocean the first thing they received was poisonous fumes and elements but, they never bothered about the outcome they just continued churning . Ultimately, they explored the elixir .Likewise, you should not bother about the outcome just continue what you are doing right now the rest is HIS discretion".

Amma ... Thaiyae.... pasikkudhu ...amma...

Very often one would hear such words from beggars at place of worshiping, cinema halls, bus stands, traffic signals and at times outside our homes too! They are ubiquitously found .Never underestimate their "industry". It is not easy to associate or enroll with them. They "recruit" people with "top influence" in other words, only referential "employment' is permissible. In Mumbai alone they made an annual turnover of whopping 180 Crores. In Ajmer, a religious place , makes an 10 Crores annually.

There is a big racket revolving around this ' industry". These entrepreneurs give their "collections" to the local money lenders who in turn, give 1-3% interest to the beggars and they utilize these amounts for their usury business.

There are group A, B,C and D " beggars" in this " business". Disable and handicapped persons are dominant force . Creating or stroking a sympathy wave is considered as an USP for a successful "entrepreneur" in this trade. For which they even get babies on rent. A weeping and a physically challenged child is an instant hit in the trade because it fetches more collections as a result, child rent also increases.

Before I sign off, let me croon a song which is consideed as an anthem for train -bound beggars " Pardesi, pardesi jaana nahin.......".

Do you want a guru?

It is futile to run after a guru. The guru is within us. Sounds interesting isn't it?
Roadside drunkard also can be your guru because he teaches us not to be a nuisance to the society. Looking at the perverted souls around us , they too , teach us not to lead a life in that fashion. So, one need not run after a guru or start hunting for a guru. Only thing is that we have to identify him. He is ready to impart education to us. By the way, Is guru equivalent to an academic teacher? Guru's duty is to dispel disciple ambiguity whereas, teacher job is to finish off academic course. hence, guru plays a vital role and he is highly placed than our usual teachers.

PAAL KUDAM: rethink it

Sabarimala season. is on. Many devotees will be taking paal kudam ritual to the Murugan temples. Litres of milk will be poured over the idols of the presiding deity. In Palani, the idol of Lord Muruga is made out of an amalgam known as Nava Pasanam, which has the potency of curing any diseases.

Hence, our forefathers took up the practice of abhishekham. Moreover, the premises of the temples were kept spick and span. All those devotees who took a few drops of milk, honey and other preparations benefitted from that practice.

In addition, Fresh cow's milk was used for the anointment purpose. But these days milk sachets are widely used. Instead of pouring litres of milk over the statue the devotees could perform abhisekham with one kudam (as a matter of tokenism) and divert other kudams to the nearby orphanages. Except Palani, all other newly constructed murugan temples don't have Nava Pasaanam idols. So they don't have medicinal purposes.
Even in palani , anointment to mulavar(main idol) had been stopped more than two decades ago. Thanks to greedy and influential "devotees"????, who just scrubbed the age old idol, for their personal purposes.
My suggestion is there should be a rethink to this pratice.

A saga of intented "take over"

An evil eye is set on an "entity" for a hostile take over. This dream has been nursed for years together. Due-diligence have been carried out. Based on the reports submitted by the auditors of the due-diligence, the taking over company have become complacent. Considering the situation of the entity to be taken over that the taking company have come to a conclusion that the company intented to be taken over is almost indefensible and nobody could thwart the hostile "take over".

The taking over company have started victory celebrations before anything is finalized. Their main intention is to uproot the operation of the business and (if need arises) impalant it elsewhere. This shows their level of arrogance .

Consider it as a hypothetical situation, the company intended to be taken over has quietly forged an amicable amalgmation formula with another conglomerate thereby it not only thwarted the hostiletake over bid but also have become a formidable conglomerate to challenge the very existence of the erstwhile bidder.

This shows that none can be taken for granted. Imagine you were a bidder company what must go through your mind and body . Afterall, you can only rue over the state of your affairs.

There is always a slip between the cup and the lip......

Go veg....

This is not possible for everyone to practice but, think of our future generations we should bequeath this planet to them in a habitable condition.

So, cut down your meat consumption to reduce Co2 emission. If you can't give up the habit of meat consumption. Atleast, try to observe "meat free day" in a week would do the needful. Afterall, going veg would allow you to beat the economic downturn.

From the ethical point of view, have compassion towards fellow living beings.

Vengadam Mudhal kumari varai.....

Exactly, 53 years ago , The first state carved out on the basis of linguistic population was Andhra pradesh. Before which it was a part of Madras Presidency. Struggle to crteate Andhra pradesh was led by a freedom fighter Potti Sriramulu.

At that time, chennai(Madras) city remained a contentious issue between Andhra and Tamil Nadu. But, tamils were not interested in giving away chennai city but, reluctantly gave away Tirupati to Andhra. During negotiations Andhra even demanded tiruttani as part of the state. The word "thiru" is found in tamil language alone. "thiru" equivalent is "shri".If one look at the tamil history it was clearly mentioned that tamil speaking region extended from "vengadam mudal kumari varai" which means from tirupati to kanyakumari is demarcated as tamil region.

Kurnool became the state capital of Andhra state.

Why are they attached .....

There is a general opinion that daughters are attached to their dads while sons are atttached to their moms. Western psychoanalysts may claim it as a freudian theory of oedipus syndrome to support their arguments. But, In indian mythology a story is woven around this phenomenon.

When Lord Ganesha attained '' marriageable '' age his parents Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati asked Ganesha about his choice of choosing a life partner. Ganesha replied '' I want a bride exactly like my mom''. Both parents fed up with the son's attitude. Then, they gave up their efforts.

And there is a sub-story for the above mentioned incident. If you visit any village you can see a ganesha idol perched right under the pipal tree on the banks of the temple tank. The above mentioned story continued ''After getting the reply form ganesha both parents asked him to find out a bride of his choice on his own. So, Lord ganesha is eyeing every lady who visits the tank. But, so far, ganesha is unable to find a suitable bride till this day''.

Poor chap Indeed!..........

Cooum rehabilitation programme.

Actually, cooum river is a back water. It has some noted religious places on its banks. Even the noted Pachaippa Mudaliar used to bathe in this river . Till 60's this river was used as water navigation . Alas! if you look at the water body now, it has become an eyesore of the city. The entire stretch of the river is about 84 kms the moment the river enters the Chennai city it gets polluted. In Chennai parlance, the other name for gutter is Coo um and vice-versa. This is a sad part for a river which has had a glorious past.

This is the third time that the government has come up with an action plan to clean up the river on the lines of Singapore river . As per the plan, it would take at least a decade to complete the project.

Her Predicament part II

Next day morning the lady came to the ashram . But, this time the sanyasi didn't give one -to-one interview instead, he asked her to join the morning discourse. The sanyasi is well versed in delivering encrypted messages to his target audience. At the same time, not to cause heart burns to them.

During discourse, he emphasized the need to be an original not to get swayed by the imaginative characters. He asked his disciples to differentiate between original and illusory feelings. He even exhorted them to cultivate higher values even when they are pushed to the pitfall. Last but not the least, never watch films which just pollutes your mind and he even asked his assistants to stop taking details about the new DVDs releases.

We hope that the lady understood the sanyasi's message.........

Her Predicament.....

A bold lady went to an ashram and met a sanyasi(DON"T BE AFRAID THIS HUMAN IS NOT A CONMAN) . She elucidated her hardship to that sanyasi. But, sanyasi got irritated over her talk .

Knowing that this sanyasi was a movie buff,(WHICH SCRIPTURES PREVENT SANYASI FROM WATCHING MOVIES) she compared her predicament with that of a heroine of the film " La Fille sur le pont" .

Again, sanyasi got irritated " girl, I cannot answer your questions right now because I've seen the movie which you've mentioned. Before leaving the ashram, leave the details of the DVD to my assistant and come tomorrow for the solution".

So folks, visit tomorrow for the answer from the sanyasi or watch the movie tonight and understand the lady's predicament.....

It was a kite flying session

Basanth festival is still three months from now. I MEAN the term ''kite flying . To check the general mood of the public before a new idea is proposed. Or rather, one would call it as an ice-breaking session. In chennai, no "ICE".

When two parties stopped talking and one party wants to re-start the process but, the presence of ego prevents straight talking.Generally, that(interested) party would use the services of emissaries/mercenaries to check whether the other party is interested in re-starting the process. If the interested party receives a green signal they can go ahead with the process.

The emissaries/ mercenaries while talking to the other party would gauge his/HER readiness, or rather conduct SWOT analysis so that they would present a report on re- starting process.

Generally, kite flying session could be used as a face-saving formula because if the other party is not interested, this step could be wrapped under the carpet forever.

Man at work????????

An orthodox south Indian family sends their only daughter to abroad after many hardships. And she seems to have forgotten her parents back home
The following is an imaginary telephonic conversation between a father (at deadbed) and his daughter:

Ring tone : Tring Tring....

Daughter: (Picks up mobile phone sharing the bed with her boyfriend) Helo Appa! (tone very submissive) what happened ? calling this hour.

Father: Chellam (meaning sweet heart) The doctors have set a deadline for my life Please come immediately (he's crying)

Daughter: Appa! Appa! What you are saying ? Nothing will happen to you Appa! Pray to god ! Nothing bad will happen to you.

Father: No NO my child you should come home immediately (suddenly connection gets disrupted call it as a technical glitch or daughter did it intentionally , Ram Jaane)

Daughter: (After placing the phone) Come on honey! let's see our . work that old man can't understand our times!

At the doorstep a board is placed saying "man at work".................

very funny analysze

Big corporporations are cutting their budgets to tide over the current economic meltdown. If the similar things are followed domestically, we are labelled as stingy. I don't know the reason. Being simple is always beautiful.

Look at Dubai, over ambitious not bothered about the impending economical collapse it went ahead with mega projects... see its current status even Big brother Abu Dabhi is having a second thought in undertaking its Entire debts.

Tough time always provides an opportunity to identify a true friend. Henceforth, never curse any adverse conditions.

Likewise, many developed nations across the globe discouraged the habit of savings . On the other hand, the government encouraged its people to spend their lives on debts.
The result pushing millions into the debt quagmire.

Having mistresses .......

This tendency is arising due to "give-me-more" urge . Stinking rich men want to flaunt their wealth go for this kind of relationship. Hence, they address their target audience (yes! we do have a sizable group in the society who craves for this kind of relationship at times, when the relation gets soured, they intimidate their male partner here relation is not seen as a male's "releasing point" but as a "fleecing point" from a woman's point of view to articulate on this subject watch tamil film "chinna veedu"). Basically, all these issues should be addressed with a counselor not you municipal councilor (otherwise, your "mistresses" and your spouse as well, will be eloped with your "area councilor". After all, this relationship is gauged on male's net worthiness).

Come on ! everyone has a breaking point don't you fall into the trap of temptation.

At times, withdraw yourself

When everything goes alright we completely immerse ourselves into the affair. That is the root cause of all problems. While enjoying the situation as it is we should withdraw from the situation take an aerial view of the situation . If one practice this , god forbids, any calamity strikes that person would stay like a solid rock. In other words, nothing will affect him in fact, he will affect everything around him.

Choose the middle path as advocated by lord Buddha.

Feign adulation

There is no recognition for originality. We rush to give recognition for false appearance. That is the power of illusion(maya) which wraps the issue with its web. Man's thinking ability is crippled the moment his desire takes the frontstage. We just jump into the situation before thorughlly analyzing the after effect. For a few moment of so-called "joy" one should not pawn one's life. The accomplishment of a desire cannot make us satisfied. If the desire gets fulfilled another desire pops up. On the other hand, an unfulfilled desire guarantees another birth. So, one has to tread carefully because afterall, life is full of traps.

All good things appear bad and vice versa. CHOICE IS YOURS..........

Forgetting is a problem

Every human life is woven with relationships. We forge relationship depending upon our tastes. It could be based on emotional , economical, physical or mental compatabilities. It is always a difficult to have a long lasting relations. Ultimately, we would be having a few relations of that kind. But, it is very easy to snap the relations at a smack of the finger. As I said earlier entire universe function is based on attractions and repulsions. Same thing happen to human beings but,we can't decipher our each and every action. We crave for a particular thing, after some time we start disliking that "very" product/object.

Sometimes, parted relations could trigger a lifelong animosity. We tend to develop an ill feeling towards the parted member. One has to forget about the past chart one's course for the future. It is easy to preach, actually, one should experience the pangs inflicted by the parted person. But, the best thing would be to forget it........

Add "spice" to your life

Making confession is a good thing . But, not at the cost of happiness. Suppose, you are writing an autobiography nobody would be interested in reading a book on a simpleton life. Before you pen a book on your life make sure you've attained a stage of a celebrity. In reality, nobody likes straight forwardness. Hence, you better think something which would ultimately, push up your book sales. Even if there is none in your life, don't worry, come out with something "spicy". There is always a seperate audience for "sleazy" content. Inside every human being, there is a habitat for voyeurism.

Markets waiting for Bad news

On friday, Dubai debt crisis came as a bad news for the market to tank around 600 points initially. However, market picked up at the close recovering around 400 points. Today ,being the first trading day of the week, market surged 300 points . Without even bothered about so-called any bad news floating in the market circle. On Friday, it was India's largest financial instituition,LIC, and other mutual funds invested heavily when the market was crashing. In order to enter the market, any bad news is treated as the good news from the investor point of view.

What are we going to leave for the future

The media space is agog with global warming, climate change, emission cuts news.A portion of the developing nations accusing the developed nations over the pressure on them to cut down the emission. What is the use of industrial advancement when the whole world will get submerged by raising sea waters. Many atolls in the Indian ocean will get vanished from the atlas in another 20 years. It is pathetic for a country, which has made a huge stride in space voyage, to provide a potable water to a vast majority of the population.

Another fascinating point to be noted is that these developed nations have an ulterior motive that is to make the developing nations to remain backward forever so that the developed will remain in a position to set the order for the whole world. One should fall into their trap.

Weed out the unwanted ones......

The world respects some one who really acts smarter. Not the hard working people. If you want to come up in life always be self assertive. Never ever show any sympathy for your fellow being . Utilize them for your betterment you don't ought to help them when they are in need. Always think of your improvement. To my mind, true friendship relation are nothing but hogwash. These things one has to weed out. One who yearns for relationship will be left behind. Whereas, one who always follow self-interest will be hailed as a successful.

As far as possible, try to be a "preachy" to others because there are certain characters which simply follows other words as gospel. So, you have a chance to convert those characters for your gains.

Reading self development books is not a bad habit . But, at the same time which really shows our inability .

Desert storm of different kind

After sub prime crisis in the US , this year a similar realty bubble busted in Dubai. This emirate had witnessed a realty boom in 2007 and 2008. The Dubai world, the government arm of construction industry, had borrowed heavily it seems more than its GDP, but the the property prices had fallen after the global meltdown , thereby unable to repay the debts on time as a result, it had asked for an extension of repayment period or for re-negotiating the repayment terms.

This news was enough for the sock markets to nosedive. Initally, it was Dow Jones and it later it spread it to Asian Markets to tumble . In India, the stock markets had felt the jitters which was sweeping across the financial makets of the world.

The only concern for India was a dip in the remittance from this region. As the news broke out many instituitions came out with a statement stating their exposure in Dubai. India Inc exposure is minimum. However, RBI had asked all banks to estimate its exposure to this mess and present a statement to it.Moreover, it had asked for a study of its impact on the Indian Economy.

The other side of kaikeyi

I don't know the name of the battle but in one of it she stood shoulder to shoulder with the king dasaratha in the time of crisis. In order to recognize the service rendered by his wife he offered three boons to his wife which she , ultimately , used at the time of (suppose to've been held) the lord rama coronation.

Guys are treacherous

A college girl narrated her "anguishness" to her friend at a bus stop" times have changed these days guys do not reply to our missed calls earlier they used to talk for hours together for just a missed call.Earlier, they used to throw parties every now and then as a result, we were able to save our pocket money for cosmetics. I thought that my boyfriend was distancing from me. In order to "tame" him I resorted to some transparency in my attire . But, no use. Now, three -four sex starved elderly persons are following me to the bus stop everyday.

SAKI! TIMES HAVE CHANGED REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What one naya paisa can do?

Nowadays even beggars don't even accept 0.50 ps if offered, they throw it on the face of the offeror. But, our telecom industry battle has reached its feverish pitch. Now, an indian in Kanyakumari can speak to his fellow Indian in Kahmir at the rate of 0.01 ps per second Unbeleivable isn't it? This is another branch of our ever growing India story.

To make the battle fiercer TRAI has recommended slashing down SMS tariff bringing more heartburns to the giants in the industry. Already most of the telcos stock have plummeted in the stock market fearing a dip in the profits. Slashing down SMS tariff would come as a last straw on the camel's back.

Consumerism, atleast for the namesake is alive in this industry. Come january 1, 2010 Indian consumer is going to benefit by way of mobile number portability(MNP) one thing for sure the telecom market is definetely going to witness a shakeout . The new operators are the first beneficiaries.

Hey! someone is crooning the song 'WE DIDN'T START THE FIRE" Helo anybody there.

Get Rude......

Senior citizens require compassion that is the normal statement. Under certain cirumstances they don't require because they sometime play the role of dhirudurastra. Remember, a story in Mahabharatha soon afterthe victory over kavuravas the pandavas visited the king's palace. Both the king and queen couldn't supress their sad demise of thier 100 sons at the hands of pandavas. But, they didn't show it, unstead they welcomed them cheerfully. At one stage, dhirudhurastra moved towards Bhima to embrace him ,sensing an impending trouble, krishna placed a metallic idol in front of bhima . The bereaved king embraced and crushed it into pieces.

This story has its relevance even today. Look at the way the senior citizens are behaving my family, my progeny my future generation no compassion for others.

Today's senior citizens were the ones who created or rather brought in nucleus family concept to India. In the 1970's or early 80's they just seperated (in most cases, delibrately) from their in-laws houses. Now, they spend their autumn of the years in the old age homes. AS YOU SOW SO SHALL YOU REAP the saying goes..........

Don't I have the right?

Last evening, I visited the vegetable market to purchase some vegetables. The business was as usual. As I said earlier, the prices of vegetables had shot up thanks to the rain.

I thought of buying tomatoes so I approached a vendor and started picking "good" tomatoes from the sacks "You cannot choose the tomatoes as you like either-you-take-as-I-give-you or leave the place" the vendor said.I was amazed at the vendor's approach. Should I have to pay more for "bad" tomatoes too!

This kind of situation we come across in our lives. As a seller you'll penetrate the buyer's mind. But, as a buyer, I have no right to scrutinize the "character" of the product I buy!

Long live consumerism in BHARAT!

Are women ready for combat operations?

Recently, one of the topofficials of the Indian Air Force had said that the women will not be allowed for combat operations.

To create a fighter pilot the government forks out nearly 11 crores. If the women are deployed, the government will not be get back the money invested on pilots. Moreover, pregnancies hamper the battle-readiness on the part of women.

Probably, that air force official is unaware that in every household of India there is a fighter pilot who carrys out the "sortie" with the name of BAHU or GRIHALAKSHMI.They simply take the battle to the enemy's camp. The moment they enter their in-laws houses(territory) they execute their dismembering operations.

Actually, in this case, they convert their "biological discomfiture" to their adavantage.Immediate fall-out will be their spouse, who really get stuck in the inital days of their marriage by simply involving in the "show time".

To become successful, in their dismembering operation they carry out "shock and awe" operation (remember, this very term used by US for the invasion of Iraq in 2003). In our case, they(BAHU) always cite section 498 and 304B of the Indian Penal Code thereby their in-laws get intimidated. Any shock and awe operation should be seen as a percursor to dismembering operation i.e breaking a family into small pieces.

Every outing is a record

Each time he goes out to bat for team India he creates a record. Yes! I am mentioning about sachin ramesh Tendulkar. There was a time when entire India would turn off the television sets, the moment, his wicket had fallen. The entire team revolved around his batting. However, things started changing after 2000 where new breed of cricketers started shouldering responsibilities. Even at 36, watching this little master committment and his dedication towards the game is phenomenal. One thing for sure, atleast for the next two decades it is going to be a herculean task for any future cricketser to surpass his records. Look at the way, the runnimg machine inside him propelling him to make records game after game.

Today is international men day

Had it been international women day the entire media would've played peans to the womenfolk. We are hapless creatures no voice from any quarters. In today's world menfolk really suffer in the hands of "diabolical" women be it at home or workplace their agonies goes unheard.

Even legal world is biased in this regard . In India, anti-dowry laws were enacted for the protection of women. Unfortunately, these legal provisions have been mistreated by the women for their ulterior motives. In majority of the cases, anti-dowr cases the allegations levelled against the husband and his relatives were baseless.

Probably, menfolk are not the target audience of the cosmetic industry. As a result, we are negligible creatures for the media to air our grief. GOD SAVE MENFOLK .......

There is a limit to tantalize....

One cannot fool people all the time. What is tantalization? it is somehing like showing carrot and stick stratergy. Making fun of one's current condition " see, if you change your camp you'll enjoy all comforts in your life. Just by remaining in the current camp you are missing an enjoyable world outside. Come on, speed up your decision process and have a great fun which awaits you". Ok this statement will definetely give a second thought about current lifestyle for a person in the mid-20's.In other words, this is nothing but a temptation.

But, for a middle age person he will not budge from the current position because he is bestowed with an experience. Yes! experience makes the person wiser. Once you get stuck in this chakraviyuh that's all you will repent throughout your remaining life.

P.S. "Tantalizers" should upgrade their process because we live in an information free world so everone is smart enough to ward off this temptation. Before hitting the floor, do your home work thoroughly.

Why this suicidal tendency?

Have you ever listened to the story of a buffalo(male) committing suicide over its jilted love? If one buffalo(female) shuts its door there is always another. LIFE MUST CARRY ON.

It is only human beings who take their lives for all petty reasons. No other species on earth resort to such type of decision. The world is full of buffaloes (both male and female) just wait for your term time will come and then pick the right buffalo(male/female) to extend your "family".

Don't just panic. stay cool. think (if you that capacity, as it involves family element don't overdo it ) and decide.

Mundakoupanishad discourse

Recently i had a privilege of attending a discourse on mundakoupanishad. To attend such type of discourse you need a seperate mindset. Bascially, to be a vedantik it is not that easy because these studies transcends our common "KNOWLEDGE"(BTW are we knowledgeable? ) Who cares man? This upanishad is a must for persons who are renouncing the worldly desires certainly, I'm not that one? This upanishad is found in the fourth veda i.e. atharvana veda. Basically, all upanishad are in the form of question and answer format(PROUD TO BE A HINDU YOU CAN QUESTION YOUR DIVINE SOULS WHICH IS NOT POSSIBLE IN OTHER RELIGIONS WHERE IT IS REGARDED AS A BLASHPHEMY) it takes place between shishya and Guru. The primary task of any guru is to dispel the darkness of shishya's ignorance.

Btw, the phrase which is embossed in our national embelem "SATYA MEVAJAYATE" is found in this upanishad . Moreover, this upanishad is interspersed with parables. there is one parable which has the shades of Adam and eve story but, in this story humans were not involved in that story , the plot of the sory spun around two birds one represents paramatma and the other one represent jivatma.

You may wonder why I am not discussing about the upanishad in detail because this involves brahma vidya .I am sorry I know only one vidya who is residing next door. I don't have a calibre to discuss about this treatise. If I say anything on this then it would look like a half-baked case.

Not just commuting

City's suburban trains are not just life lines for the commuters. It is associated with too many activities like begging, merchandising yes! flowers, vegetables cosmetic items and other trinkets right inside the compartment. It is unlawful to conduct "business" inside the train. But, in India rules are meant to be broken. Once in a month the responsibility lies on the hawker to pay the penalty voluntary to the authorities so that he will not penalized again however, there is no guarantee of his second time getting "caught". This practice goes in a rotation among hawkers. The ultimate beneficiary is the commuter because as the danger of being caught by the authorities these hawkers sell their products at the dirt cheap.

VEGGIE PRICE SOARING

A couple of months back vegetable prices were soaring because of lack of rain. This time around the vegetable prices are high citing the reason of the non arrival of vegetables from the neighboring states due to heavy rain.

It is a devil's advocate world. Same reasons given on two different occasions.

rain en core!

North east monsoon has intensified once again with a trough over the Indian Ocean. We all welcome rain in this region but with the drainage system available in the city and water clogged streets the scene of more rains means a nightmare-in-waiting. Remember! only a few months ago, people in this part of the world conducted "donkey marriages" to please the rain god. Now,the same rain god is seen as a villain. Perception changes faster than expected.

No reprive from mosquitoes

Tropical regions are known for mosquitoes . This tiny insect could cause fatal results, if unchecked. The disease like malaria, typhoid , dengue chickungunya etc.are transmitted through this insect.
Not all doctors are qualified to treat these diseases.Only doctors of tropical areas can diagnose the ailment properly.

The government hospital doctors are well equipped to treat these kind of problems. Because every year soon after the monsoon, they witness a fresh influx of patients with these symptoms. Suppose, if you got wrongly admitted to a private hospital, that's all you will get milked by one or other tests alone.

Of late, the mosquitoes have developed a resistance to the repellents. As a result, they have become more virulent. All marshy areas in and around Chennai witnessing a steady inflow of sewage, this facilitates or rather act as breeding ground for mosquitoes.

In the 70's we saw mosquitoes coil which produced fumes to drive out the mosquitoes. this created some respiratory problems for the users.

In the 80's we saw mosquitoes mat being used and inthe 90'swe witnessed repellant in liquid form. Yet the battle against is to be won. There is an adage OLD IS GOLD Still, people prefer mosquito coils.

Just be awake.....

People may call or claim themselves to be spiritualistic. By doing one 's regular pujas or reading religious scriptures or making yearly pilgrimage or involving in some benevolence ACTS really do not make a person to attain self-realization. However, these can be treated as launching pads for self-realization.
Then, a question pops up in our mind what is self-realization? performing miracles .... Nay, having a huge following of devotees......Again Nay, then what?

A wood cutter attained self realization even after that he remained a woodcutter. In an indolent mind there can be no self-realization thoughts so how to churn up our mind to remain awake to attain self-realization? You don't have to do anything it will happen just like that........

You sow a seed and water it regularly you job is over . Then, seed sprouts into a sapling against all odds of the soil this is called Hari IITCHHA.Not all seeds sprouts up only a few grows up. hence, you are just a witness nothing is in your hands everything is programmed you just dance to the tunes of the ultimate PROGRAMMER.

still paying rent.......

It is a middle class dream to own a house. When the whole world's realty had taken a beating because of economic downturn. Indian realty companies have made a re-jig in the sales budget. Even banks are en cashing the situation by offering novel schemes to the customers. Many big realty realty companies have slashed their costs and offering houses at an affordable prices.

But, these housing units are coming up in the heart of the city. City's suburbs are witnessing many multi storeyed apartments. Even after owning the apartment they ought to fork out a sum of Rs.4000/- or Rs.5000/- as apartment maintenance in addition to the monthly EMI to the housing loan. Which means the apartment owners still remain a tenant ......

Its time to visit clinics

First bout of north east monsoon is over. In spite of week long rain the city's reservoir remain half-full. The met department stated that the state had received only 65% of the rainfall. Still, there is deficient. However, the rain had helped the city's water table to increase.

Rain does not stop with bringing water flows along with some water borne disease have sprung up. Almost, all clinics in the city witnessing steady inflow of patients. Many parents carry their infants on their shoulders standing in a que o get doctor's consultation.

Anything too much is undesirable.

No cricket in Marina .....oh No!

Hardly any place available for playing cricket inside the chennai city. The recent ban on playing cricket in Marina has caused many heartburns to the sport lovers. Ofcourse, I do admit that causes nuisance to the morning walkers and other tourists. But, unfortunately there are no places available in the city. All playgrounds in the city have been encroached by the "influiential" people. Now, tell me where will the "players" go....

Intransigence neighbhours

There is no perenial river originating from the state of Tamil Nadu. For water purposes this state is completely dependent on water from the neighbhouring states. Since the water has becoome a precious commodity in the 21st century the neighbhouring states are fortifying their resources thereby making Tamil nadu a water starved state. This is the state of water affairs within the state of Indian Union.....Alas, MERA BHARAT MAHAN....

21st century not about territory

In the days of yore, wars were fought over territory. But, not anymore the 21st century wars will be fought over natural resources. Why America fought two gulf wars within a span of 15 years, because it wanted to control oil wealth in the gulf. It is alleged that US has got huge oil reserves in the Alaska region that goes unutilized. Because a day would come when the entire oil wells in the gulf region will go dry then the US would be in a position to dictate terms on energy matters.

There is already a talk going on that China is constructing a dam across Brahma putra river. Once the construction is over that would spell doom for 100 million people in North east India and Bangladesh.

China does not want to see an another superpower in its backyard .As a result. it wanted India to be tamed by controlling the water resources then India will not be in a position to share its space in the international arena.

Very easy to poach.....

There seems to be a debate going on why married men are easily poached by the unmarried women. To illustrate the case, let me cite an example.

Initially, it will be difficult to get a credit card from the bank because they conduct all sorts of due-diligence on the customer to check his promptness, credit worthiness and his repaying capacity. Once everything is satisfied, the bank will issue the credit card to the customer.

Later on, he will be flooded with offers from other banks with enticing schemes but these banks do not conduct any inspection or prepare any report on the customer. They simply rely on the reports conducted by the first bank..

Likewise, a married man conduct is indisputable because he is committed to his relationship hence, these unmarried women would always yearn for a relationship which is trustworthy and reliable in nature. That's why they indulge in poaching the married man. Because a married man would come handy his track record is known from his present relationship and the level of commitment he shows to his family. Moreover, these married men possess all desirable qualities (VERY OFTEN IMAGINED BY OR FANCIED BY "unmarried women")but , sadly they are married to someone else..... (not everyone will be in a position to conduct preliminary investigations because time is running out)That is fate but it can be reversed through some aggression....

Singara chennai

Right from the month of March the womenfolk in chennai would carry plastic pitchers to collect water from the metro water lorries. They are the "life-savers" of the city ironically, they claim many lives on the chennai roads.

No amount of rain is sufficient for "ever-thirsty channaites".Thanks to illogical planning of the city and encroachment of lake beds and the catchement areas of the lakes. This city is known for lakes. (because this place falls under thondaimandalam region ofthe state). Everbody were praying for raingod to relent because this year summer stretched till October. Last week, rain god ,indeed, relented but chennaites were in no mood to accomodate him. Because, chennai city cannot tolerate two hours of rain continously. Blame it on archiac drainage systemof the city. All low lying areas were inundated. Now the people of chennai praying to the same rain god "enough is enough".

Last year, city reservoirs were full to the brim and the authorities opened the sluice gates of the reservoirs without any prior intimation. As a result, both south and north portionS of the city got submerged . Now, let us pray such a situation should not arise this year...........

Resurrection of one dayers

Many cricket pundits appalled at the way in which the twenty 20 cricket killing the one dayers. But, the ongoing India-Australia series have proved them wrong. Recently concluded champions also proved that there were a few takers for the 50 over format. We, Indians are completely cricket crazy blokes. NOTHING HAPPENS TO 50 OVER FORMAT ATLEAST, IN THIS PART OF THE GLOBE.

Small is beautiful

Many high budget films didn't do very well in the box office. Whereas, the small budgets films have been very successful in the recent past. The people who've made high budget films did it with the intention of hero-centric stories. Those films fulfilled the aspirations of the heroes. But, failed at the box office.IN OTHER WORDS, HORSES FOR COURSES. Whereas, the producers of the small budget films experimented with new genre and they allowed or pinned hopes on new entrants. Moreover, the storyline touched the aam aadmi lifestyle. Not exotic locales were shot. only the local neighbhourhood was chosen to shoot the song sequence. As a result, the films became successful.

The producers and directors should always experiment news things. They should stop taking films which fits into a hero's belt. May be a seperate venture capital kind of set up is required to finance the films. These financial back ups should be available to films with decent script. In hollywood, scripts -based finance have been in vogue for more than seven decades.

pretension is the success mantra....

Even if you know the truth sometimes we ought to pretend as if we are completely unaware of things that are going around us. The moment we show our awareness level the opposite party gets alerted . As a result, never show youir emotions until you reach the bottom of the truth.

Preaching easy practicing hard

Almost everyone of us are very good preachers . The very easiest thing in this world is offering unsolicited advices to others. But, when it comes to practicing sum of the offered ones. Our mind would say "NO no it is for others not for me " I can break the rule.

Take Dale Carnegie's case he had two divores in his life but he wrote a book "How to stop worrying and start living". Whatever he couldn't practice in his own private life he had just preached it to others. ATleast, he had translated his ideal thoughts into a courseware for billions of people.

People invest in anguishness

In order to gain sympathy and attention some people always speak negative about themselves. They talk about their ill-health, financial crisis and marital unrest. In sum cases, people have a tendency to show inerest in other's affairs as if their state of affair is clean.

By thinking and talking about negativity these people are not going to achieve great in fact, their self-esteem get dented in the long process. these people seek publicity by selling their so-called short comings to others. They do find listeners for their glibly talk.

Irresistible indeed.......

A high pedigree dog was well nourished and taken care by its master. This created a few heartburns to the mongrels of that locality. They hatched a plan to trap that high pedigree one. Everyday they came at the entrance of the house and made all types of antics.

Seeing that, the dog couldn't resist its temptations hence,it too joined them by jumping out of the wall and leaving behind the master. Initially, everything went on well sometime later, the high pedigree one unable to resist the hunger pangs, unlike its newly acquired "peers" (as they are used to it) . As it belonged to high breed category, its conscience disallowed it to enter the erswhile master's house again. As the hunger reached its feverish pitch the dog bit its own tongue, thinking that it was biting a piece of bone, to satiate its hunger.

In everyone's life we always come across the aforesaid situations some time we yield to them afterwards we curse our fate . It is always better we exercise a word of caution before we jump into that........

Timely Release

The celebrities always write their autobiographies after their retirement. In order to spice up the book sales they make some "startling revelations" so that they can hog the limelight once again. Here being honest is a secondary issue the motto: make more money even after your retirement. And make sure don't become a scapegoat by your own disclosure.

A few words of admonitions from the peers here and there . In order to rescue that personality from further complications so-called intellectuals would hail him/her as a whistleblower and then everybody will forget . Ultimately, that personality would secretly receive a fat cheque from the publisher that's all. A portion will be doled out to some "spin doctors" who had taken part in the bookpublicity campaign.

Stronger will needed

Sometime ago, I had mentiond about conviction and stronger conviction to commit and admit the wrong.
Recently, Former World No.1 Andre Agassi has confessed to drug use during his playing days in his autobiography. Humans cannot work against his conscience because the HIM inside you will always nag you and make you restless. Unfortunately, some think that their "rendez-vous" will never surface. To them "all-matters-once-buried-ever-buried" . Nobody can escape from their karma.

Why fear ?

The prime reason for fear is fear of loss and fear of pain. There are various forms of fears like biological fear, emotional fear, sociological fear etc. Lack of clarity also atribute to our fear. It is also embedded from our ancestors I mean "we are actually from animals". For a fearful person F.E.A.R. means "Forget eveything and run" Imagine your wife comes near you without a make up then you'll follow the aforesaid dictum. FORGET EVERYTHING AND RUN.

Once you've analyzed the problem (i.e.youe wife) you will redefine the fear definition F.E.A.R. fear means FALSE EMOTIONS APPEAR REAL that's all.

Actually, we lack guts in confronting/taking on fear head-on. Once that portion is solved then.....

Honey (bees) where are you?

As per recent report, honey bees will become extinct in another 30 years causing imbalance in pollination . Particularly, after the installation of celltowers there has been adrastic reduction in honey bees population. The waves from the cell towers causes distruption in the sensors of the bees. This phenomenon not just confined o bees alone. Even migratory birds lost theirway in reaching the desired destination. So, we (I) really miss you honey!!!!!!

Devoid of blockbusters

Diwali releases always created a hype in the market. This diwali almost all releases have turned out to be a damp squib. Not many top hero films was released for this diwali. Except aadhavan by Surya. Watching a film on the day of release is always an exhilaratiing experience. That too, on the day of diwali, I really run out of words in describing the experience.

These days people just sit around the tv sets watch debate programmesand cine interviews. TV has killed the people's communication skills. In many a household, people need to learn or undergo a course on how to be a good host/hostess.It has taken away the crowd meant for matinee shows . As a result, many big banners have jumped into making TV serials to keep enthralling the target audience. Almost all Tv serials are tear jerkers (mainly based on conspiring theories of saas and bahus).

Chasing fame

Reality shows have generated lots of heat among the parents. they want their kids to be hailed as a celbrity overnight. For that, they chase the fame like never before. The privacy is no longer considered as a taboo subject . They are willing to discuss it in the public forum. Washing dirty linen in public is done for the purpose of gaining a cheap publicity. The so-called participants are not probably aware that how long this "celebrity -status" will survive.

Sensing this weakness among the mass the marketers are playing to gallery as the idioms goes " make hay while the sunshines"

Novels of R K Narayanan

The talent of R k Narayanan was spotted by the noted novelist Graham Greme . Narayanan novels always portrayed the Rural indianness prevelant in those days. He had always associated his childhood days in his novels. His main hero were depicted as a simpleton whom we see in our day-to-day life. He just brought out the socio-environment of 1930's and 1940's in his novels.

He created the village called Malgudi just like Sir Conan Doyle created "10, baker street in London". His stay at Mysore and his activities as a child were well brought out in his novels. Narayanan believed in simplicity likewise, he reflected the same in his books. His work has given an insight to the western audience to peep into rural india lifestyle.

Malgudi days in Tamil

A newly started TV channel is going to telecast Malgudi Days in Tamil. Twenty years back, the same serial was telecast on national channel of Doordarshan. At that time, it was just a fun of watching it as there was no other means of entertainment. But, now it would be a different feeling . As you watch that same programme, you would get ignited by nostalagic thinking. Each and every episode would bring back the memories of the events and incidents that had taken place two decades ago. At the back of everyone's mind , we all yearn for our childhood days. But, sadly we won't get back those days again .That is reality. Life must go on.

Festive Hangover

It is a first working day after diwali. No one is ready to give out their fullest efforts. Wherever you go you face a sort of "festive hangover". Be it Bank, post office or railway reservation centre. People are suffering from sluggishness. probably, they didn't take "deepavali marundhu" ( a home made preparation to offset the bad effects of sweets and savours).

In every brahmin household an old lady used to advice the younger ones in preparation of the deepavali marundhu. Gone are those days, these days all " perisu" are just glued to TV sets and gossiping about elopements that've taken place in the neighbhourhood. These days, elopements take place just like having a cuppa. The Indian government is reluctanct in amending the labour laws. the India Inc. wants "hire and fire " clause in the labour laws.

But, the girls in the neighbhourhood have adopted "hire and fire" policy by changing their partners at a . First week elopement, second week "jalsa", third week , change the partner very rapidly. (BTW, they carry morning after pill with every "jalsa" they have) otherwise, they get admitted in a corporate hospital and abort the unwanted pregnancy (at the same time, while returning home you should not disclose your abortion, instead, inform the neighbhourhood that you met with an "accident"). We really know whether it was an "accident" or an "incident"........AN UNFORCED EFFOR. The presence of LDL (BAD CHOLESTROL)in your body had propelled you to indulge in that act.

Lacklustre Diwali

It is not because of recession. Particularly, in Tamil Nadu there is no trace of recession. Seeing the crowd at ranganathan street many financial wizards will have a "shock and awe" expression on their faces.

The amount of bursting crackers has gone down drastically because of steep hike in their prices and sustained media campaign over pollution related matters. Another reason could be attributed that these days youngsters have avenues of entertainments. Splurging on the occasion of diwali is seen as a profligacy.

Sarvatra Sarvotham Suraksha

Got confused the real meaning is "everywhere best security" . This is the motto of NSG. As it completed 25 years on 16, October.Since its inception, it has carried out some major operations they are : Operation Black Thunder I , OperationBlack Thunder II, Operation Ashwamwedh, Major combat operations in J&K < operation Vajra Shakthi and very recently Operation Black Tornado and Operation cyclone to flush out militants in Mumbai.

The noted lyricit Gulzar has rendered a new anthem for this elite force and shankar mahadevan sung the song.

In the wake of security threat faced by the country the government has decided to deploy the force in other cities like Mumbai, chennai,Kolkata Bangalore and Hyderabad.

Its festive season.....

These days prepration for deepavali is not upto the mark. Once upon a time, deepavali means lots of "OC" dresses and crackers from known "sources". In my memory, I used to collect crackers price lists from various shops and I just presented to my parents. Like any other "responsible" parents they just fulfilled my desires in buying crackers. I swear????? that I had never influenced their decision .

After getting my quota from my parents my next destination used to be my granny 's house. My grandpa was always averse to the idea of bursting crackers so he used to discourage my granny and me from purchasing crackers. We stealthy go out and purchase crackers and store it in the "terrace-loft". At home, my granny and I behaved almost like a hardcore elements and remained tightlipped till the date of Deepavali. We never discussed about crackers with other family members. To my grandpa, crackers were classified as WMD (WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION) . On hearing the word crackers he would move a resolution to reprimand me and my granny. That's why we always played clandestinely. All of a sudden, as I lit "thousand-wala" outside the house, around sametime,My grandpa from verandah fired his ballistic missiles(verbal) at me and my granny.

Around mid-day I used to receive a small cache of sparklers from my uncle. By evening, I would have finished purchasing third round of crackers. After watching all spl programmes on DOORDARSHAN I would ask my granny to find out the date of next diwali from our family almanac. That was the craze. Now, all those euphoria have died down. These days, I have taken up the role of my grandpa and chiding my family members "what a waste of celebrating this festival".

Fickle minded people fall prey

Human brain is like a blotting paper. We almost think so many things at a time . As a result, we become slave to our own thoughts. We lack clear vision to see the things as it is. That's why we seek or consult astrologers/soothsayers etc.

These astrologers always play foul in destablising the already destablised mind.It is just like a low power radio transmitter waves get stuck or jammed by a high power radio transmitter. Remember, astrology is a science. But, scientists can go wrong.

Clear vision, unruffled behavior plays a vital role in shaping up one's character. To tune up those things we practice yoga, pranayama and meditation.

Beggars read the pulse

If you are a regular rail commuter you will notice the beggar menace inside the compartment. They are very shrewd in making a good collection even during recession. Probably, begging is a recession proof. A pointer to HR people.

These beggars always read the pulse of the people travelling in the compartment. They sing according to the season festival. Last month, it was Ramzan and Navratri festival. They gave out a combo plan by singing hindu and muslim devotional songs. India may declare itself as a secular country. But, in reality, each one of us take pride in our own religion.

Politicians fill their coffers by splitting the society on the basis of religion, caste and creed. But, these beggars play on the sentiments of the travellers. GO INDIA GO!

The guru is not still awarded.....

Mahatma Gandhi has not been awarded the Nobel peace prize so far. In spite of repeated nominations he was not selected by the prize committee. But, his followers like Dalai lama, Nelson Mandela, Rev.Fr. Desmond Tutu have been awarded the coveted prize. And now, President Ba rack Obama too, has joined the list.

Mr. Obama is in office for nine months . Yet, his policies has not been translated into action. Only 27 inmates from gitmo have been released. His famous speech at Cairo meeting could be considered as a out-reach policy to the Muslim World.

Too early, to receive the award. What Mr.Obama would do after receiving the award? Sign a document to dispatch troops to Afghanistan as part of reinforcements to bring peace to the region.

Not long ago, Obama hailed Mahatma as his real hero. Definitely, the disciples have overtaken the Guru.......

All attractions are physical in nature.....

The entire world is governed by the law of gravitation. Not every time we use our intellect to distinguish between reality and delusion. At one time or another we fall prey to an illusion. The attraction or repulsion is nothing but nature. Do we still give any importance to the first doll/toy that which received from our parents?

It is quite natural for babies to discard the old dolls to new ones. Likewise, we can't settle with one wish . It one wish gets settled another one pops out. It goes on like this till you get buried or cremated.

The normal reason behind extra marital affair or pre-marital affair is "normal is boring" Our physical urge forces us to do something "spectacular" at the same time, not being caught by others because of our act.

People call their love or classify their love as "platonioc love" (ofcourse, their love is platonic till they find a new companion If you are deft enough , you can run two trains in parellel lines just like in mumbai make sure they don't run in opposite direction) As far as human beings are concerned there is nothing called "platonic love" we are all governed by pulls and repels function of this huge magnet called Maya (Illusion).

Define Go-getter?

To his friends he is known as a focussed and go-getter. But, to his boss (he is the one who really assigns his job) he is just "go and get her " type. You know what I mean providing "links" to two different human beings of opposite sex is an age old practice . Just try it yourself you get instantaneous result in your lifestyle. We fondly call such persons as MAMA PAIYYA!

Try to appericiate it

We always crib over which is not in our possession We often fail to appreciate which is already in our possession. Did we ever adulate our little fingers in our hand ? The moment, little finger gets hurt we often see it and we make all sorts of noises over the hurt. Otherwise, we don't seem to have any regard for it. God has given sun, moon, stars, winds, breeze, cyclone seas, mountains and rivers etc. Did we ever appericiate the nature around us? We always look out petty pleasure and we seek "recognition" from fellow minions for our petty "achievements" That's how we've been programmed Curse our Programmer! Again the almighty.

Hour or hire cycle shop

The country was under the socialistic economy not every middle class household were in a position to own a two wheeler. Hence, owning a scooter or motorbike was a pipe dream for them. But, at the end of every locality, one could see a "hour cycle shop" . These cycle shop owners possesed "adequate general knowledge "about the locality . Off the record, they knew every minute detail about the people staying in that area.

To get a cycle on hire you need an area acquaintance otherwise , the cycle will not be given. Initially, the owner would lend rickety cycle no matter whether you are a soft "user" or a rugged "personality".Actually, this was his ploy to study your "riding pattern".

Once you've gained his confidence you will be entitled for a "brand new cycle" on hire. In those days even to own a cycle monthly salary wAS not sufficient. Some prudent cycle sellers came with an idea of selling a cycle on monthly instalments. (Imagine, nowadays people buy cars and motorbikes onloan basis.)Sometimes, a rugged "person" would get a "brand new cycle" on the other hand, a "soft person" would get a "rickety cycle". What do you say about this..... IT ALL FATE.

L'Enfant Terrible

A newly wedded couple had a petty differences (say, on the lines of mouna raagam) but they kept to themselves. The husband's boss had hosted a party at his house. The boss children posed some delicate questions at the couple about their relationship. Initially, they were surprised and bewildered at the children behaviour.

Sometime later, they came to know how their domestic affairs were leaked to boss's house. The culprit was their housemaid who was doing "public broadcasting services". Henceforth, one should always be wary of appointing a housemaid. Moreover, don't entertain your personal matters with your housemaid.

Otherwise, lots of trouble awaits you.

Bring them under your control

In personal life/career we do have adversaries/opponents/enemies etc. Its a part and parcel of our life. How do we overwhelm them?

In Indian texts, we often quote saama, dhaana, bedham and dandam. Meaning 4 C's
Coax, Contribute, Confuse and confront.

COAX: Just praise them even though he/she may not deserve those encomiums.

CONTRIBUTE: Offer them with luxurious gifts make sure you 've "immersed them in your hospitatility.

CONFUSE: If you can't convice them atleast confuse them. In other words, create a fissure in their camp thereby you can encash the situation.

CONFRONT: This is the last resort, some people are headstrong by nature. They only understand the language of force.

Hit or flop

Come Friday movies will be releasing all over the theaters. "Tarai tickets" response will be a crucial one for the films to stay afloat. A film success can be gauged by how far it has gone an extra mile in appealing to the 'c' centers.

Nowadays, it has become a herculean task to bring the crowd to the theaters. A particular segment, mainly womenfolk have glued to the television sets. "chocolate heroes " are not appealing to rural folks. Hence, a dash of rustics ideas are being loaded into every film.

Sometimes, the fans receive over dose of rural element as a result, the movie buffs gives a big thumps down at the box office. Moreover, Big banners don't even receive enough "collections" to match their cost of production. Unless they are backed by the media hype. Whereas, some unknown banner becomes a big hit overnight.

Definitely, Moving making is interlaced with various factors.......

Where are they?

Chittu kuruvi (sparrows) were ubiquitously found in chennai. This "bird" had titillated many many poets and lyricists to compose songs named after them. But, unfournately, oflate these kuruvis were not seen in this city. When inquired it was found massive urbanisation pushed them out of the urban areas, Moreover, the installation of cell towers had caused them to move out of the cities.

This is one of the classic stories of ecological imbalances which we are witnessing right in front of our eyes.... Still, we will be witnessing many more species getting extincted a DAY IS NOT FAR WHEN WE OURSELVES GET EXTINCTED FROM THIS WORLD.....don't underestimate ourselves we have the capability to destroy ourselves..........

One man's loss is another man's gain

just a couple of weeks back Jet airways pilots went on strike over sacking of their colleagues. Sensing the trouble brewing in the aviation sector, the other airlines encashed the situation by hiking the airfares arbitarily.

Now, it is the national carrier Air India's turn as its pilots were reportedly went on sick leave en masse. Will there be any upward movement in airfare?

The concept behind Durga mata

The demon magisha had a boon from lord Brahma that in the event of death it should happen at the hands of a woman. That was the level of arrogance. He had a belief no woman could take extreme steps of killing a man .

As a result, No god was in a position to take on the demon. Everyone urged the goddess Uma to take on the asura. Even Umadevi failed in her operation. After analysing the situation, The entire divinity came to a conclusion that a seperate shakthi be created thereby others divine powers would give away their unique power to the newly created shakthi and they wanted to make the created shakthi as a potent force in anhiliation of the magisan.

Lord Vishnu surrendered his shankhu and chakra. Lord Shiva surrendered his trishul.Likewise, other devas followed it.This is how goddess Durga was created.

INTERPRETATION: If there was a petty theft local constable could handle the situation. If there was a mob riot, a mild lathicharge could bring the situation under control. If there was an arson and looting throughout the city RAF will be called in.

Suppose, if there was a terrosist attack like Mumbai attack last year. The above mentioned official machinery were considered inept in handling the situation.

The solution: NSG commandos should be brought in to take stock of the situation.
How NSG commandos were formed? The top cadets of army and other para military forces were picked for NSG training . THis force has the speciality in carying out flushing out ultras.
Here, NSG acted as commandos but the inputs were drawn from other forces. Just like other divine powers energised the newly created shakthi called Durga.

Lanka Naresh: An opposite view

Every year, around this time, people celebrate the killings of Ravan. By the way, this blog has no intention of belittle Lord Ram. My effort is to see the qualities of Raavan.
Parents:Father, Vishrava ( Brahmin) Mother,Kaikesi (Daitya)

Lineage: Greatgrand son of Lord Brahma, Cousin of kubera, god of wealth.

Qualifications: an ardent shiva devotee, exponent in four vedas and six shastras (that's why he is depicted as ten-headed personality).

Weakness: Penchant for woman In other words, covetable character.

On vijayadasami day, the effigies of ravana, kumbhakarna and indrajit will be burnt. At the same time, Dave Brahmins belongs to mudgal gotra will be performing shraadh for ravana whom they consider as their ancestor.

After killing ravana Lord ram performed a puja at Rmeswaram to ward off the Brahmahatidosha and also to pacify the anger of Lord shiva, for having killed his devotee.

It is not an easy task to become an enemy of god. TO be a god's enemy you need certain qualities which lankanaresh possesed. But, because of one bad habit he fell from his grace.

P.S. Ravana comes under "blended product" category because of his parentage. Not all, "blended products" could reach the level of higher valueS. Had Ravana inherited his mother's brilliance and his father courage he would have been nowhere. To articulate on this subject, just read my first blog of DECEMBER 2008.

Come on...let's "play"

Man voice: Hey! have u made arrangements for our "play" at your "place".

Woman's voice: No ! We will have at your place so we can "play" longer....

Man voice: No! No! we will "play" at a neutral venue.

Hold on! Hold on! the above conversation has no double meaning effect. At present scenario, Neither India can tour Pakistan nor Pakistan can do tour India. The sporting authorities of two countries are exploring possibilities to reume sporting ties..

The above piece is purely an imaginery conversation and nothing else!

What we miss today?

Once upon a time, there were no cola giants in Tamil Nadu. People used to drink "colour" to quench their thirst. The "COLOUR" means locally manufactured aeriated water mixed with saccrine or rose water essence. Otherwise known as "paneer soda".

After the arrival of cola giants these "colours" were not even found in the remotest hamlets of the state. I still remember, a bottle of paneer soda was available for just 0.30ps (without "ice") or 0.40ps (with "ice") . Those things will never come back again.

A night round up Part II

Bicycle was the common mode of transport in the 70's . Every main road used to have a cycle lane exclusively for the cylists. During nighttime, it was mandatory on the part of the cyclists to have lamps (mainly kerosene -lit lamps) either in front of or side of the front wheel. Filing to do so,would attract fine from the police.

Likewise, "doubles travel" was prohibited by the police. The immediate response from the police would be to deflate the cycle tyres. The night show goers were always seen with a suspicion hence, they had to preserve the cinema tickets till they reached home. Otherwise, that could pose trouble. Even today, this practice is continuing.

A night round up

Chennai always known for its conservativeness. In the 70's and early part of early 80's people used to go to sleep as early as 9.00 clock, as there was no entertainment in those years except All India Radio's Vividhabharathi. That too, tamil programmes got over by 9.00 p.m. If anyone stay awake after 9.00 p.m even neighbhors could command the person to go to bed .That was the socio environment. The most affected parties were tenants. The Landlord of those era almost behaved like bullies. They had every 'right" to issue writ over tenants electricity usages.

Slowly and steadily, the scenario changed in the mid-80's. Thanks to cricket. Television started telecasting matches midnight and early hours of the morning. That made kids to stay awake to watch cricket. Even then, the chennaites were deprived of any sort of entertainments. Only recreation was going to "night show". The night show goers got the tagname -----ruffians from the fellow members of the locality.

Then came satellite television in the early 90's which really changed the sleeping pattern almost all urbanites, not just chennaites. The round the clock telecast made these "deprived class " to spend more hours in front of the idiot box. I would even say the chennaites didn't get what they wanted.

The picture started changing by mid-90's with the arrival of various MNC's to this city. Many dicotheques, bars amusement parks were opened. The city also witnessed immigrants from other parts of the country flocking in relation to their jobs and businesses to this city.Gradually, this city earned the name of "somewhat-cosmopolitan" status.

As the night life started flourished in the city, the eating pattern too changed significantly. Earlier, this city was known for a few udipi hotels and arya bhavans. But, now everything has changed rapidly. Many a street side cafetria have sprung up across the city. Oflate, many biryani outlets are the flavour of the masses.
Eating Biryani at 11.00p.m. has become a fashion. (then, why you rue over chennai being called diabetic capital of India).

Cattle trade

Mahatma gandhi once said " The future of india is intrinsically connected with the future of its villages".

As a TRUE indian,Last Sunday, I went to a village near kanchipuram. The village was hosting a weekly shandy. I came to know that village was known for "buying" cattle in "bulk". The "breeds" from all over the state and neighbhoring states were found. To my surprise, I had spotted two-three "foreign breeds" too.

The local breeds were looking frail and weak whereas other breeds were robust. A government vet said " our breeds were reeling under prolong summer the other breeds were just out of monsoon that's why they look robust".

The way in which they negotiated in "purchasing" cattle was a unique way. The buyer and seller came together (the meeting was facilitated by a "broker" ultimately, he gets a cut from the sale proceeds). The broker would place a turkey towel (before which both buyer and seller held one another hands together) on their hands of the buyer and seller . It is a non-verbal communication once the "deal" is okayed the buyer caould take away the cattle.

The buyer would "inspect" the cow by pulling its teeth (i.e.to check the "age" of the animal)
Predominatly, the buyers were "interested" in buying cows without calves. the reason being that the calves maintenance were considered as a wasteful expenditure.

Out of every five bovines sold, one happened to be a male bovine. These male bovines were huge in demand during "mating season". During that season, the maintenance of bull cast upon cow's owner. The nourishment and medical expenses would be borne by the cow's pwner. The other days these bulls were used for farming purposes.

Energy releas(er)

When the earth feels its tension it releases by way of an earthquake.

When you are on a long travel, your pants or underwear gets stuck between the buttocks (BTW this phenomenon is known as "pants wedgie") your hand will wait for an opportunity to pull out the "clogged-part" from your bums this is one way of energy releasing process.

Your are in a meeting room which is air-conditioned. Your are asked to present or explain over a subject again and again by your boss. By this time, urine gets accumulated in your bladder. What you would think at that time? As soon as the meeting gets over, you will rush to washroom to "release" it.

The boss talks about an incentive plans to his (woman) personal secretary and asks her to stay after the office hours which means he is about to "mount" energy releasing operation on her. Get ready damsel!

You've had a mouthfuls from your superiors for your silly acts. your mental energy is at the lowest ebb. You curse yourself of your state. You will throw tantrums at the persons whom you think would not retaliate you. This is another way of energy releasing operation.

Occasionally, one must release the bad energies stored in our body. Otherwise, the pent-up emotions will have a delirious effects on one's metabolism.

As the zen saying goes........

IF YOU CHOOSE TO SEE ONLY THE POSITIVE YOU MISS HALF OF WHAT'S GOING ON---AND IT'S DANGEROUS!
THE WAY IS TO SEE IT ALL, AS A WHOLE. AND THEN CHOOSE. THIS IS WHAT PRACTICING ZEN DOES.IDEALISM CAN BE DEADLY.

In real life, we only project our better sides to others. we hush up our darker sides. Come on, you and I have darker side too. Because we want to project ourselves as a cut above the rest. You may think that you've hushed up everything but, the time will expose you when it is necessary.

A complete transformation

The villages once known for innocent life is no longer seen. The bug urbanisation has caught them too. The eating pattern has changed rapidly. They too, "crave" for junk foods just like their brethren in cities.

Gilli danda, kabadi games have been replaced by cricket on the dry village tank beds.
Socialising aspect (for which it was knon for ages together) is absolutely missing. Every one watching with a suspicion or fear in their mind. Instead of eating greens and vegetables available in their fields people wait in the que to get vegetables from the "annachi" shop(which is invariably dry in nature).

hence, the so-called-village life has transformed over the years.

Thoppukaranam redefined

The practise of thoppukkaranam is visible in every household of south India. But, with the arrival of luxuries in everyday's life we don't practise it.Even today, the students who are afraid of exams make a "deal" with the god of knowledge ---Ganesha. If their demand is materialised , they perform thoppukarnam in front of the ganesha idol who is seated under the canopy of a pipal tree in the vicinity of the village tank. Remember, the pipal tree has the benefits of enlarging one's intelligent power. In urban areas, the concept of thoppukaranam has been modified because of tight shirts and trousers. Urbanites do it at their own style.

What is more pathetic is that we as Indians do not honour our age old practise. When the same thing has received a "so-called-certificate" from the westerners. We follow it with full reverence.

Now, the thoppukaranam has been redefined as super brain yoga . The benefits of this yoga is to improve our intelligent power.Just correlate intelligence-Lord Ganesha-Pipal tree everything leads to knowledge.

I hear some whispers saying "there is some real stuff in pagan's traditions".

It's Navratri

This is the most auspicious period to do penance. The first three days/nights belongs to goddess Lakshmi. The second three days/nights belongs to goddess parvati and the last three days/nights belongs yo goddess saraswati. The tenth day is elebrated as vijayadasami. Upto 9 days, you strive on your sankalpa to taste the victory you need the blessings of the supreme power.

The number 9 has significant role in Hindu Calender. The total duration of Mahabharatha war is 18 days. There are navagrahas. If you count a rosary you'll find 108 beads.

In the match-making process,Navamsa should match between a bride and groom.

Reversal of Time

A cardiologist said " 30 years ago, when I started my practice the grandsons/granddaughters used to accompany their grandparents and urged me to save them.

Now, I do receive grandsons and grandparents the only difference is that the grandparents urges me to save their grandsons".

Tardy response

In India, sports have no official recognition. A few whimpers would raise after the major event over the dismal performance of the indian sportsmen. Then, the government would constitute a committee to probe into the sports debacle and as usual The committee would table its reports after 10 years meanwhile, dismal performance continues .

The commonwealth games is due to be held in 2010 in New Delhi . The preparedness on the part of the government machinery just shows how lethargic it is. We ought to be more serious . This is the major event after almost 27 years of Delhi Asiad Games. We ought to seize this opportunity to showcase our mettle.

China won its first gold medal in olympics in los angeles games in 1984. Look at its stride it made in sports by 2008 beijing olympics . It topped the medal list showing its prowess in sports also. In India, everything is "chaltha hai" attitude which causes the impediment to progress.

Tale of two mothers

A housemaid, mother of three children, struggling to meet her ends. This time she is expecting her fourth child. Not intersted in having the fourth child . Planning to abort the pregnancy. But, the owner of that house advised her to have the child.

Saying one of her relatives would adopt the child as they were issueless and they would finance other children studies. At last, the housemaid accepted the deal. She delivered a girl child but ironically, she refused to part her baby. She told " with whatever means I have I would raise the child but I would not give my baby for adoption".

This story about a woman in her mid-twenties. Leading a carefree life. Always home alone as their parents were away from the town. That enabled her to heavy partying and rollicking. As a result, she became pregnant and her boyfriend had deserted her.

Why we wake up

The most easiest thing one could do is to sleep for longer period. But, after that what happens.. One has to wake up from the sleep. The reason: the karmas of our past lives propel us to the waking stage. Can we declare that I'll go to sleep for three months. Not more than 8 hours you can lie on your bed.

There are three stages one has to pass through dreaming stage waking stage and deep sleep stage.

Once you are in a deep sleep stage you'll not realize whether you are alive or dead. After coming to waking stage then you'll say " that I had a nice sleep". Now, quesion yourself with that "I" used in your declaration. chant the mantra Who am I? something will dawn on you. This is called self-realization.

There is a pond
A frog jumped into it

Indian pugilists : creates history

Virender Singh created history by winning a bronze medal in the world Boxing Championship . This is the first time that an Indian have won a medal at the competition of this level. Instead of concenrating on big cities the sports authorities should move to hinterland to harness the talent. This pugilist, Virender singh, comes from a village in Haryana.

All these years India's hope rested on hockey team .Currently, the state of the game is absymal low . Still, hockey is our national game our performance in that game has diminished rather, we lost our space to power hockey of the western nations. We didn't pick the changes in the game rapidly as a result, we are in this position.

India should concenrate on individual's game to win medals at the international games. Boxing proves to be a beacon for india's medal hopes in the next olympic games.

Recently, International Olympic Association has included women boxing events in the next olympic games. Already our women boxers have proved their mettle in this region.Hence, our women boxers do not lag behind their male counterparts.

TAILPIECE: This author has the penchant of watching two women fighting inside the ring or otherwise. If that battle happened to be a gladiatoral battle then there is no way to measure the author's joy. It's called NO QUANTUM OF JOY.

Tighten your purse

The global meltdown has forced a change in lifestyle . Even deities are not spared. some temples in India have cut down their expenses on alankaram (decoration expenses). In some other temples, the size of the prasadan(divine gift) has reduced drastically.

The government has announced austere steps to prevent the flight of public money. It has asked the MP's to travel by economy class. The MP's are entitled to 34 air travel pass that alone costs Rs.54Cr for the government. By this the exchequer could save public money.Several business meetings have been cancelled they are conducted through video conferencing.

No abbreviation plz.....

Thirumuruga kripananda varriar swamigal once said" we lavishly spend on wedding parties but, when it comes to printing wedding invitation card we show our stinginess. The salutations used for bride is Sowbhagyavathi(a woman blessed with (all forms) of luck)and the groom is addressed as chiranjivi (a man who remains immortal). However, if one read through the wedding invitation card one could see abridged version of their salutations as "sow" "chi" prefixing their names.

The word "sow" has various meanings one of them is ---an adult female pig. And when you mention "chi" in tamil it is something disgusting or detesting in nature. The most auspicious happening is marriage in one's life just because of the stinginess the very meaning of marriage gets degraded can't we rectify it?".

Power respects power

Here is a neighbor who has scant regard for any conventions. All he wants to do is to dictate his own terms. He has charted his growth path in late 70's. He had analyzed our strength much before we analyzed it. As a result,In the mid-80's,He had helped another "rogue" neighbor in developing lethal weaponry clandestinely.

Currently, he is throwing his weight to botch our chances in becoming an economic super power. Since he was concentrating rather focusing on his growth he had "outsourced" the destabilizing projects (which are inimical to our interests)to our "rogue" neighbor. Now, he has laid an encirclement strategy to keep us trapped in a closet. The other powers in the locality would only use as a counterweight they too, follow self interest policy when it comes to us. We can only have self-pity what else can we do?

How do we defeat the nefarious designs of evil neighbor?

We should accelerate our economic growth to 10% for the next 10 years. We should strengthen our defense mechanisms . No other power could help us out from this current quagmire.

Right now, we do not have the guts to speak about our problems loudly.

It is time for our policymakers to read Kautilya's ardha sasthra again and again in order to know how to deal with the powerful adversary.
The neighbor will not respect us because of our "weak" apparatus. Unless, otherwise, we gird up our loins we cannot tide over the situation.

In this world, only power respects power.

Raise your cudgel

I came across a newpaper column about Indian Mom-in-laws have formed an association to make their voice heard of. To substantiate their grievance they cite the NFHS (national family health survey) As per that survey, Young woman suffer domestic violence from their parents rather-in-laws.

The members of this forum are not from lower strata of the society. There are forensic experts, doctors, lawyers, and other professionals. A harrassed mom-in-law lamented her story " everytime I go to take a shower my bahu switch on the geyser from outside during summer season".

Often they are portrayed as vamp by the media. Coming back to suryey it found an unmarried woman faces 13.7% domestic violence from her MOTHER comparitively 1.7% by their mom-in-law.

The report went on to say the daughter-in-laws are programmed to dislike their partner mother. Once this mindset is on, it is very difficult to mend it. This is the view expressed by a psychologist from Cambridge,UK.

Now, who indoctrinates the daughter-in-law? Who extends external support to daughter-in-laws? Or is it something found in women genes?

TAILPIECE: At Vandalur zoo,In a fight between two lionesses one aged lioness died and the younger lioness badly bruised.

Not a sinful act

There is a famous dialogue in the film nayagan(1987) by a boatman-cum-bootlegger "Naalu perukku nalladhu seidal edhuvumay thaappu illai" literal meaning is even a sinful act,if there are beneficiaries to it, will not be treated as sin.

Apply this dialogue in everyday's life. The people of this generation (only a miniscule portion of the society) indulge in all immoral activities like "swinging" "one-stand stands" "swapping". In conclusion, we cite that it was for the welfare of the family members. To accentuate our stand, we even quote "the end justifies the means" . As human beings, we want the logical support for our deeds. No matter how bad our activities are. No sophistry please!
